Two major angles are set to go down tonight on WWE RAW that will help set up WrestleMania 31 matches. Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler have been tweeting back and forth teasing a potential match between the pair. Many feel this would be the type of match worthy of both men since WWE is seemingly refusing to add them to the main event this year.
WWE massively teased this on WWE.com this weekend.
“But where will Bryan’s journey take him? Based on his interview on last week’s Raw, the leader of the ‘Yes!’ Movement still has his sights set on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but his unceremonious ousting during the Royal Rumble Match by longtime nemesis Bray Wyatt has seemingly denied him his return to the WrestleMania main event. Will Bryan seek retribution against Wyatt for dashing his dreams for WrestleMania? Will Bryan’s social media exchange with Dolph Ziggler about a friendly match at WrestleMania 31 lead to a Show of Shows dream match for the two fan-favorite Superstars? Perhaps we’ll learn more about The ‘Yes!’ Man’s next move on Raw.”
Most minds go back to “Macho Man” Randy Savage against Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat from WrestleMania 3 when thinking of this potential match. The same was also said when Kurt Angle took on Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 21 years ago as well. Both matches stole the show at their respective WrestleManias, and Dragon/Macho is considered by many to be the best WWE match of all time.
So to put that type of pressure on Dolph and Bryan is certainly big.
According to Daily Wrestling News, both this and another match will be started tonight on WWE RAW. The other happens to be a match that many consider to be pretty big: Bray Wyatt vs The Undertaker.
WWE.com had this to say about Wyatt.
“Following a dominant performance in the 2015 Royal Rumble Match, lasting more than 45 minutes and eliminating six Superstars, Bray Wyatt delivered a bizarre message on Thursday’s SmackDown that was even more cryptic than his usual proclamations. Asking “what makes you smile?” Wyatt claimed that he fears “nothing, living or dead.” He then promised that after what happens next, “it will be hard for you to ever smile again.” To whom was Wyatt speaking, and to what was he referring?”
While The Undertaker is rumored to return at WrestleMania this year, for now it is uncertain. WWE seems to be setting Wyatt up for it at the moment, but since they have not referenced him directly, it is thought that WWE can change gears with Wyatt at any point. However, WWE is currently going with the idea that they can get The Phenom back. So WWE will be pushing forward with a match between the two and Wyatt will most likely begin promos regarding it tonight.
The only one we know will directly happen tonight is Bryan/Ziggler. Meanwhile, the one with Wyatt will be shrouded in mystery. WWE RAW is set to be a big show tonight between these two match setups, as well as Triple H’s major announcement. WWE has very little competition tonight from sports or major shows, so RAW should have a good rating if all goes according to plan.
