Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp was arrested in Phoenix on Monday morning for soliciting a prostitute, police in Phoenix have confirmed.
Details surrounding the arrest remain unclear, but the 42-year-old Sapp was booked into custody Monday, per the report. Sapp was in Phoenix covering the Super Bowl for NFL Network, which suspended the former defensive lineman.
Sapp's suspension is without pay “pending the outcome of ongoing police investigation,” NFL Network spokeperson Alex Riethmiller said Monday.
Monday was not the first time Sapp has been arrested. He was arrested for domestic battery in 2010, but he had those charges eventually dropped. He was also arrested for an alleged domestic battery in 2014.
Sapp, elected into the Hall of Fame two years ago, was chosen for seven Pro Bowls in nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and helped the Bucs win Super Bowl XXXVII over the Raiders. Sapp finished his career with four seasons in Oakland.
