| According to PWInsider.com, WWE had several notable names backstage in Philly for the Royal Rumble PPV on Sunday, in an attempt to swerve the internet and have it leak the names would be appearing in the Rumble match.
As we noted, Randy Orton was backstage, dressed and ready to go for the show, and reports are Alex Riley, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, Chris Jericho and Nikolai Volkoff were also backstage at the show.
With the exception of Alex Riley, WWE had no intention of using any of the above names in the Rumble match, but had them backstage hoping to generate online leaks and buzz.
At one point, WWE had plans to feature Alex Riley in the Royal Rumble match which is why he was pulled from the Royal Rumble pre-show. For whatever reasons, plans changed, and Riley was of course not used in the 30 man match. |

| So let me get this straight.
They had notable names, all of which would have been amazing to see, and instead decided to grace us with people such as Titus O'Neil, Jack Swagger, Big E, Adam Rose, & Sin Cara? |
