NXT taped three weeks of television tapings tonight at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. The taped episodes will take us through February 5th, with another two-hour live special on February 11th.

January 21

Tye Dillinger is in the ring for a match, but Sami Zayn runs down and beats the hell out of him before the bell even rings. He demands a fight with Kevin Owens, but William Regal answers instead. Zayn tells Regal to make the match. He says it can be non-title if that’s what he has to do; he doesn’t care he just wants to fight. Regal understands how much it means to the champ, so he announces NXT Takeover for February 11th and the main event will be Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens in a non-title match.

(1) Finn Balor def. Curtis Axel in a quarter-finals tournament match.

(2) Charlotte (c) def. Sasha Banks to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Becky Lynch got involved, causing a disqualification. Bayley made the save to even the odds, then turns on Charlotte and hits her with the Bayley-to-Belly. William Regal comes out and books a 4-way title match for NXT Takeover.

(3) Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake def. The Vaudevillians. This was sort of an upset win given that they were just in title contention a few weeks ago. Blake rolled up English for the win.

(4) Hideo Itami def. Tyler Breeze in a quarter-finals tournament match.

WWE NXT
January 28

(1) Adrian Neville def. Tyson Kidd in a quarter-finals tournament match. Neville cuts a promo about winning the tournament and getting back to the top again. He vows to win back the NXT title.

(2) Charlotte & Bayley vs. Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch ends in a no-contest. Bayley got into it with Charlotte and the referee called for the bell.

(3) Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake def. The Lucha Dragons (c) to become the NEW NXT Tag Team Champions. Once again, Blake with a surprise roll-up on Kalisto to win.

(4) Baron Corbin def. Bull Dempsey in a quarter-finals tournament match.

We got a contract signing segment. Zayn gets his face-to-face with Owens for the first time in NXT. He says he should have expected the betrayal, he just thought maybe things would be fine between them since they both finally made it to the WWE. Owens looks over the contract and tells Regal that he came to NXT for a reason, and it wasn’t Sami Zayn. He demands it be made a title match, or he walks away. Sami demands Regal change it, and he does. Kevin signs the contract as does Zayn, and Regal holds back the champion so a brawl doesn’t break out.

February 4

(1) Carmella def. Emma

(2) Adrian Neville def. Baron Corbin in a semi-finals tournament match. Bull Dempsey came out and attacked Corbin while the referee was distracted.

(3) Bayley def. Becky Lynch. There was a brawl between Bayley, Lynch and Sasha Banks. Charlotte came down and stood tall over all of them.

(4) Finn Balor def. Hideo Itami in a semi-finals tournament match. We got a handshake before and after the match. The finals are now set – Balor vs. Neville – for NXT Takeover.
