Liverpool have held talks with Lille over the possibility of Divock Origi moving to Anfield this month.
The striker, 19, joined the Reds in a £10m deal last year but was loaned back to the French club for this season.
"There has been some discussion but there is nothing to report," Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said. "The agreement was for him to stay there so we will see how that works.
"If not we have the players here and we will go with what we have got."
Liverpool are light in attack, with Daniel Sturridge a long-term injury absentee and Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert delivering just four goals between them.
