Punk has certainly been keeping busy since ending his WWE career. Not only has he signed a contract with the UFC, he's also building a resume as a comic book writer. Today we learned that Punk's next comic book assignment will be contributing to an anthology issue from DC's mature readers imprint Vertigo called Startling Sports Stories #1.
Wrestling Wrap Up: CM Punk Joins the UFC
Not much is known about this issue aside from the general theme of "strange, scary, sexy and sensational sports stories." If anyone has experience in that area, it's Punk. Other creators involved with the issue include Brian Azzarello, Paul Pope, Gilbert Hernandez, and Darick Robertson. Strange Sports Stories is billed as a four-issue mini-series in total.
This will be Punk's second published comic so far in 2015. Earlier we reported that he'll be one of three writers contributing to February's Thor Annual #1. There Punk will team with Chew artist Rob Guillory for a story about Thor in his younger, pre-Mjolnir days.
Look for Strange Sports Stories #1 to ship in March 2015. Let us know what you think about the idea of The Straight-Edge Savior writing comics and what projects you'd like to see him tackle next in the comments below.
