| Then, on Monday morning following Washington’s 24-0 loss to the St. Louis Rams, Redskins reporter Mike Jones of The Washington Post provided this saddening eyewitness account about Griffin’s behavior around Redskins Park in Ashburn.
“Last Friday, after practice, he was on the field by himself for like 40 minutes, just punting the ball, and running after it, and punting the ball and running after it,” Jones informed The Junkies. “The guy looks like he’s lost, doesn’t know what’s going on, and so I did feel bad for him.”
“So wait a minute; he was on the practice field, in the bubble, just punting the ball — like a kid would, just out in the back yard?” Bishop asked.
“Out there on the practice field,” Jones said. “He stayed there. This was outside, after everybody’s in the locker room changing their clothes, getting ready to go, and he’s just out there for like 40 minutes punting the ball, he’d run after it, punt the ball.”
“That’s a little strange,” Bishop acknowledged.
Strange and so, so sad.

| Its a case of everyone overhyping him and the end result being him not living up to his potential. Some of it is the coaches fault, but the coaches arent out on the field playing every sunday. |

| It's a case of a dude being lost.
He came into the league and was immediately a top twenty player in the league. Tore his knee, re-tore it because Mike Shanahan is the most selfish piece of shit ever (Smart people will know what happens when you re-tear scar tissue while it's healing) and at 24 faced having to basically learn how to function on a knee again because it's never going to be 100% again and nothing is ever going to "feel" right. Muscle memory, everything, is gone.
Now, a new coach takes the job and five weeks in reports are out he took the job with the intention of moving on from RGIII. Did the front office know that when he signed? Does the front office feel the same way?
This is a kid, that quite literally carried a team to the playoffs by himself as a rookie. You can say all you want about his teammates and coaches but if you look at the results from before the second knee injury and the results from after and it's impossible to deny.
Griffin was 9-6 before his 2nd knee injury.
According to the metrics kept by PFR Peyton Manning has had two total seasons better than RGIII's rookie season. Aaron Rodgers has had one season better than RGIII's rookie season. Tom Brady has had two total seasons better than RGIII's rookie season.
They're 6-23 since his injury. He's 3-10. The team is 3-13 in games others have started.
So no, he wasn't "over-hyped" or "over-rated."
He was at 22, immediately, one of the best players in the league. He was an elite passer and an elite athlete. He was injured, not over-rated. If you want to move on from him, I get it. He might never be healthy again. |

| I agree. I've never been a fan, but to say he wasn't super good before his injury is being retarded. |
