Jonah Hill will star in Warner Bros' Arms and the Dudes.
The Wolf of Wall Street actor has signed on for The Hangover trilogy director Todd Phillips's crime comedy, reports Variety.
The film is based on a Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson.
Arms and the Dudes centres around two young stoners from Miami Beach who find themselves out of their depth after securing a massive arms deal with the US government.
Jesse Eisenberg was in line for the project but exited due to his commitments to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Shia LaBeouf was also in talks for the film.
Phillips will produce with Hangover star Bradley Cooper and Mark Gordon.
Hill will be seen in the upcoming Coen Brothers film Hail Caesar, as well as True Story and The Ballad of Richard Jewell.
