WWE taped this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown from Fort Wayne, Indiana before a pretty decent crowd that seemed excited for the show.
-The Miz and Damien Mizdown come out to start the show with Miz TV. Big Show was supposed to be their guest for the segment, but Daniel Bryan made a surprise return and announced himself as the general manager for tonight’s episode. He put Seth Rollins in a match with Ryback, and title matches for Luke Harper and Rusev.
(1) United States Championship 20-Man Battle Royal. Rusev retained over the other entrants, which were the Miz, Mizdow, Big Show, Eric Rowan, Jack Swagger, Heath Slater, Titus O’Neil, Stardust, Goldust, Justin Gabriel, Sin Cara, Adam Rose, Tyson Kidd, Los Matadores, Cesaro, and the Uso Brothers (thanks to ProWrestling.net).
(2) WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella def. Emma. This was a non-title match, and Brie Bella was ringside. AJ Lee came out and attacked Brie, who did absolutely nothing the entire time. No mention of the 30-day slave contract expiring or anything.
(3) Ryback def. Seth Rollins via DQ. Kane came out after a really decent 15-minute match and attacked Ryback with a chair. Rollins and the security goons bailed to the entrance ramp and watched the assault.
-Daniel Bryan announced Ryback vs. Kane for WWE TLC.
(4) The New Day def. Heath Slater, Titus O’Neil & Curtis Axel. This was the first official match featuring these three with the new gimmick.
(5) Dolph Ziggler def. Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper by count-out. Ziggler attacked after the match was over, but Harper got the title belt and took a swing at him. Dolph dodged the attack and hit him with the Zig-Zag to end Smackdown.
