Regarding Sting’s WWE debut last night and the big angle which took place in the main event, PWInsider.com reports WWE’s main strategy with Survivor Series last night was to push the WWE Network and really drive home the fact that “anything” can happen in WWE and anyone can show up on the Network.

This is the reason why the Sting angle was done, and is also the reason why WWE announced the Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt match at TLC, and the Austin Vince interview taking place next week.

Sting was also used to help give WWE 2k15 a big promotional boost, as the PPV took place right around the same time the game was released on next gen consoles.

It’s also possible WWE officials put Sting’s name into the script earlier on in the show in order to keep his big main event angle a secret.
