WWE taped this week’s episode of Smackdown from Liverpool, England earlier today. The episode will air this Friday in its normal time on SyFy.

-Chris Jericho kicked off the show, making his return to Liverpool, England. He is out to host a special edition of the Highlight Reel. Jericho pumps up the crowd and gets a great reaction, and introduces Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, who get a ton of heat. The loud “Where’s Our Network” chants begin during their entrance. There’s a lot of talk about Team Cena vs. Team Authority.

-Vince McMahon makes a surprise appearance, and insults the live crowd. He says that Liverpool sounds like a skin disease, and gets a ton of heat. This was just a dark segment for the live crowd. It helped them get all the “Where’s Our Network” chants out of their system.

(1) Bray Wyatt def. Sin Cara. Total squash match. Dean Ambrose rushed the ring after the match, but couldn’t get his hands on Bray Wyatt, who escaped up the ramp.

(2) Goldust and Stardust def. Adam Rose and the Bunny. More conflict between the Rosebuds, because that’s a thing that needs to be established on multiple shows… Not a great use of the tag team champions.

-After the two had issues on RAW this week, Ryback will face Kane tonight.

(3) Intercontinental Championship Match
Dolph Ziggler (c) def. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro in a 3-way elimination match to retain the title. Easily the match of the night, and it should come across great on television. Tyson Kidd eliminated Cesaro first, and then Ziggler beat him to retain. Ziggler was banged up from RAW, and this was another test from the Authority.

(4) Natalya def. Layla. Basic Divas match where Natalya won with the Sharpshooter.

(5) Ryback def. Kane by DQ. The Authority were all at ringside watch the match, and Kane threw a chair into Ryback’s face to cause the finish. They beat down the Big Guy, but Ryback came back and hit Shellshock on Kane to end the taping.
