According to Reddit User MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE backstage employee who has broken several WWE stories in the past, the company has plans to drop the Elimination Chamber event. 

"Word going around backstage this past Tuesday at the SmackDown tapings are that the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view will be no more," MetsFan4Ever wrote Friday night. "The early lead names going around to replace the Elimination Chamber name will be either WWE Fast Lane or WWE Fast Track." 

MetsFan4Ever continued, "The reason is because there is only one WWE / World Champion right now. So they want to stay with the Rumble winner receiving the shot and have no Chamber even with the title holder in the match." 

MetsFan4Ever also noted that the Elimination Chamber Match won't be gone for good, just the pay-per-view itself. He believes the match will take place at pay-per-view events that call for it.

Yeah, Elimination Chamber, Hell in a Cell, and TLC, get rid of all of them. Storylines shouldn't be booked because there's a match coming up, matches should be booked because the storyline requires them.

the only Gimmick PPVs there should be are The Rumble, King of the Ring and Survivor Series

Same thing with Money In the Bank. Makes no sense since there's only one match nowadays for one briefcase.
Just put it back at WM, they're gonna need more attractions for WM now that Taker's streak is done.

As we reported yesterday, WWE will be dropping the Elimination Chamber PPV from its annual calendar, and the event will likely be replaced by a new PPV called “WWE Fast Lane.”

According to PWInsider.com, next year’s Elimination Chamber was penciled in for February 22nd in Memphis, Tennessee, so it’s possible that’s when the new Fast Lane PPV will air.

There is talk that the Elimination Chamber PPV could be held at a later date, possibly in June, and even if a Chamber PPV does not air, WWE does not plan to scrap the Chamber Match altogether, and it might be used to setup a title match for SummerSlam.
