Michael Elgin did appear at this weekend’s Ring of Honor television taping in Florida, despite claims that he had “quit” the company and was done performing for them. There are numerous reports over what caused the distension between Elgin and ROH, but there seems to be frustration on both sides.
Earlier this year, Elgin dropped the ROH World Championship and was stranded in Canada because his visa paperwork hadn’t been completed. He was there for over a month without his wife or animals, right after buying a new house. When he returned to the U.S. he stated that he was grateful to Ring of Honor for speeding up the process to bring him back, but would not continue to work for them.
Last week, he posted on Facebook a letter received from the company, threatening legal action if he did not fulfill his contractual obligations to appear at a television taping in Florida. As you can read in our complete spoiler-filled coverage of the event, he did appear at the show, but in an angle taped for TV, walked out on an in-ring promo, and later refused to wrestle a match.
