Sega’s speedy blue hedgehog is dashing onto Wii U and 3DS in November with two different titles. Sonic Boom is a new take on the hedgehog that focuses on teamwork among four playable characters. In a new video, we learn more about the gameplay and the connection to the Wii U version.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on Wii U (under development at Big Red Button) is a completely different game than Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal on 3DS. Sanzaru, which handled Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and the HD ports of older titles, is leveraging its platforming experience for the handheld version.

Shattered Crystal features three familiar characters (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles), and a brand new character, Sticks. Players can swap among them to access different parts of the level and uncover secrets with their special abilities.
