The Bell Rings with Icon and Insano standing across from each other, standing in opposite corners.
Cedar: What a way to open up Impact, Icon coming of a huge win last week in the King of Xtreme Tournament moving on to the second round taking on The Insane One Nate Insano.
Miles: Fans have been wanting this match for years, two of the most iconic superstars to ever step in an XWA Ring.
Both Icon and Insano step to the center of the ring, Insano stares down at Icon, the anticipation grows as fans wait for the match to begin. Seconds feel like minutes as both extreme superstars stare into each others eyes. It is as I the world stood still as two XWA Icons stoo in the ring, until Icon clocked Nate with a stiff right hand. Nate stumbles to his right towards the ropes and holds his jaw.
Cedar: What a right hand! Icon setting the tone for this match early
Miles I’m amazed he can even use that hand. He cut it up pretty damn good last week.
Cedar: That was a hardcore match for the ages, they brawled all over the arena, and somehow Icon came out the victor.
Nate looks to Icon and says “Ok, it’s on now” The Insane One suddenly charges Icon and drives his shoulder into Icons Midsection, then runs him into the corner, he then drives his shoulder, repeatedly into Icons midsection. He backs off after the third shot and steps back to the center of the ring and Icon walks out trying to catch his breath. Nate drives his knee into Icons midsection before he locks in a front face lock and suplexes Icon. He floats over for a cover, barley getting a one count before Icon gets his shoulder up.
Cedar: Nate Insano taking full control of this match in the early stages.
Miles: That’s what he has to do, stay on Icon, don’t give him a chance to bust out those high flying moves he loves to use.
Nate quickly locks in a rear chin lock. His Elbow right under Icons Jaw, he is on one knee, his left knee on the mat and his right foot flat on the canvas. He leans forward, further putting pressure on Icons neck. Referee Ryu Sanu is right there, watching closely to make sure this doesn’t turn into a choke. Icon knows he needs to get out of this, he gets his feet under him and powers his way up to his feet. He gets his hands on the back of Insanos head then drops to his posterior, causing the hold to be broken. Icon stands up as Nate stumbles backwards. Icon follows him and hits several, quick jabs to the face of the Insane One knocking him back into the ropes, Icon then irish whips him to the opposite side of the ring, Nate rebounds off the ropes and as he reaches the center of the ring, Icon hops up to the middle rope and springboards off hitting a springboard crossbody and taking down his foe. Icon rolls off Nate and gets back to his knees. Nate rolls to his stomach and gets up to all fours, Icon quickly stands up and as Nate gets off his hands and gets up to one knee, Icon hits a running mafia kick to the side of his skull. He falls to the mat in a heap and Icon goes for a cover, getting a one count before Nate gets kicks out.
Miles: Nate Insano gets out of that one easily.
Cedar: Icon took control just like that, he can turn things around so quickly.
Icon grabs Nate by the head and pulls him up to this feet, he locks in a front face locks and hits a suplex, he pops his hips and holds on to get his adversary to a standing basis he then hits a second suplex, he repeats it and goes for a third suplex, but Nate counters, drops behind Icon, waistlocks him and heaves him overhead and drops the Toughest SOB in XWA on the back of his head, and shoulders.
Miles: What a german suplex! Icon was going for those triple suplexes of his and ended up getting dumped on his own head.
Cedar: Icon has so much to his game, he can fly, he can wrestle and he can punch you in the mouth, he’s in the Hall of Fame.
Icon rolls out to the apron, trying to get some space, Nate stands up and turns towards Icon. Who is starting to get to his feet, holding the back of his head, he is up to one knee when Nate starts to pull Icon up to a standing basis when Icon grabs his head and drops to the floor, hot shotting the Insane one across the top rope. Icon climbs back up to the apronas Nate stumbles back holding his throat. Icon grasps the top rope with both hands his right over and his left, under. HE springs up to the top rope and leaps off with a huge backflip as he flies forward tucking his legs in. When he completes a full 450 degree flip he thrusts his legs out and drives his feet into the chest of Insano. Fans cheer as Icon hits the mat and sits up.
Cedar: Icon hits the shooting star dropkick! That’s an Xtreme Icon specialty!
Miles: That’s one of his oldest tricks, he’s been doing that in XWA for years.
Cedar: He’s not a one trick pony though, he’s added new moves to his repertoire for years, the Xtreme Driver, in recent weeks, the Fosbury flop and Superman Punch. He’s always evolving his game, that’s why he’s stuck around for nearly 6 years.
Icon grabs the legs of Insano and hooks them under his arms, he drags Nate backwards to the ropes, Icon then drops to his back and catapults Insano into the ropes. His chest hits, causing him to bounce off, his back end up landing on Icons bent knees. Icon quickly rolls Nate onto his stomach and hooks both his legs in a boston crab submission hold. He cranks back on the hold as Nate starts to try and push himself off the mat. He screams in pain as Ryu asks if he wants to give up, suddenly he powers out, using his legs and throws Icon off and sends him out to the floor. Icon goes through the middle and bottom ropes and flips forward onto his back, and audible thud is heard as Icon hits the thinly padded floor.
Miles: Let the bodies hit the floor!
Cedar: 2001 called, they want their song back, second, how healed up is Icon really? He took a beating in that hardcore match last week.
Miles: So did some poor saps truck, busted window, windshield shattered, someones laptop got busted over Icons skull.
Cedar: Icon has a tables match next week in the second round, how much will he have after tonight?
Icon rolls onto his stomach holdinng his lower back as Nate gets to one knee, Ryu counts two as Icon gets to one knee as well. Nate stands up, holing his back briefly and walks over to the ropes. He steps between the top and middle ones out to the apron. Icon gets to two feet, his hands on his thighs, then Nate jumps off the apron with both hands clasped together and drives them into Icons back. Restarting the refs count. He drops to his knees and takes a stiff kick across the back by The Insane One. Icon drops to the floor as the ref re counts two. Nate steps over to Icons head and pulls him up tp his feet, he hits a hard clubbing blow with his right arm across Icons back he grabs Icon by the head an runs him face first into the ringpost. Icons head connects with an audible smack, Icon falls to the floor, rolling onto his back, holding his forehead with both hands.Nate slides into the ring then back out, breaking the refs count.
Miles: Smart by Insano to break the refs count.
Cedar: This is a regular match, Countouts and DQs apply. Nate doesn’t want any kind of count out. HE wants to win this in the ring.
Miles: If Icon was smart he’d try and get counted out, knowing he has a tables match next week.
Cedar: Not how Icons oes business, he’s here to fight every week, usually the first one in the building and the last one to leave.
Nate steps over to Icons midsection and stomps on his chest with his right boot, once again he grabs Icon by the head and pulls him up to his feet. Then hoists him onto his large shoulders, Hooking Icons right leg and his head.
Miles: He’s going for The Spine-Tingler!
Cedar: On the floor?! This will end it!
Nate stomps around the ringside area as he holds Icon, showcasing his sheer power. Icon somehow gets out of it, drops behind Nate, locks in a waist lock and German Suplexes Nate on the floor, hard. Riving the back of Nates Head and shoulders on the black mats that cover the concrete floor.
Cedar: Nate Insanos cranium just got suplexed on the floor!
Miles: He hit Icon with a German in the ring, Icon just did one on the floor, that’s worse.
As the ref counts to 5 Icon rolls onto his stomachs and grabs the ring apron. He starts to pull himself up to his feet. HE gets to one knee as Nate barely rolls to his side, as a 6 count is heard Icon rolls into the ring and back out, breaking the count as Nate did just a few moments ago. Icon shuts his eyes and tilts his head back, showing the pain on his face, he hit that floor as hard as Nate did. He grabs Insano by the head and pulls him up to his feet. HE rolls him under the bottom rope and leaves his head outside the boundary of the ring ropes. He backs up to the ring post. Nate is roughly in the center of the ring as Icon backs up to the ring post. Then he charges forward and hits a running knee right to Insanos temple. He rolls into the ring, just inside the ropes. Icon rolls in right after an goes for a cover, Sanu is right in position to make the count, Icon hooks Nates left leg, but only gets a two count. Icon yells “Damn it!” as He gets to one knee.
Cedar: What a solid shot by Icon.
Miles: Running knee to the skull, that would knock a normal man out, not me though, I’m too tough.
Cedar: Yeah, lets get Icon to hit you with one and put that to the test, it sure as hell didn’t knock the Insane One out. He’s still going.
Icon backs up to the corner then steps forward to his foe, who is back to all fours Icon stops next to Nates head. Closes his fists, except for his middle fingers and thumbs, acts like he is shooting a gun by rapidly bending each elbow back to a 45 degree angle after a few of these motions he places his right hand on his left bicep and drops to his knees and drives the point of his elbow into the back of Nates neck. He rolls away holding the back of his neck. Icon stands up and walks over to the corner closes to Nate, which is on the opposite side of the ring on the side of the announce tables. He picks Nate up and puts him into the corner, then he Irish whips him to the opposite corner. Icon backs into the corner he is at and waits for Nate to hit the turnbuckles, as he does Icon charges forward full speed, he leaps into the air fairly close to Nate, who ducks out of the way. Icon had so much momentum he slammed his skull into the top of the ring post. He stumbles out holding his head as Nate runs to the ropes on the announce table side of the ring, rebounding off as Icons faces him. When he nears his groggy foe he lifts his boot up into Icons face. Icon stumbles back into the ropes, half falls out, but stops himself grabbing the middle and top ropes his feet go up in the air, up to about Nates head height, he rebounds back into the ring and steps forward and hits a huge clothesline falling to the mat along with Nate, Icon rolls onto his back as blood drips down the side of his head.
Cedar: Clothesline Crazy! Icon hit that rebound clothesline of his, but he is busted open!
Miles: Must have did it on the ring post, missed that Stinger Splash in the corner, btw why does he call it Clothesline Crazy?
Cedar: He named it after the Tyler Farr song Redneck Crazy
The Ref starts counting as both men are down.
Miles: Well what is the Superman Punch named after, sounds like another song reference.
Cedar: NWA Straight Outta Compton
Sanu: 2!
Miles: The hell? Icon has some radically different music tastes, I can’t stand that crap, I’ve faked liking some stupid music to get in a chicks pants.
Cedar: Well there is nothing fake about Icon.
Sanu: 3!
Miles: Seriously, he’d probably get more women if he faked liking Bieber or One Direction or some other stupid pop garbage to get laid.
Cedar: That’s the reason Icon can’t stand you, well one of them, then again most people hate you.
Sanu (as both men start to roll to their side): 4!
Miles: I’d agree with you but then we would both be wrong, anyway we have a 4 count in the ring. Both men are down.
Cedar: Refree Ryu Sanu is taking it easy on the count, no one wants this to end in a double countout.
Sanu: 5!
Icon gets up to all fours as Nate gets to one knee, Nate holds his face as Icon wipes the blood off his head, staining his white wrist tape red. As Sanu is about to count 7, Icon stands up, as more blood starts to appear on his head. He walks over to Nate who throws a stiff right to Icons midsection, he slightly bends forward as Nate puts his left hand on the side of Icons head, as he slowly cocks his right fist back and throws a calculated shot into Icons cut, further busting it open, Icon turns around and stumbles away. Nate follows him and hoists Icon up to his shoulders. Hooking his head and leg, He marches around the ring then as he faces the hard camera he runs forward several steps then falls backwards, fans start cheering as Icon is hit with The Spine-Tingler.
Cedar: He hit it this time!
Miles: Call the fat lady tell her to sing!
Nate rolls over to his knees and crawls on top of Icon. He hooks Icons far leg as the ref gets in position. But somehow doesn’t get to 3, in fact he gets as close to 3 as possible before Icon digs down deep and gets his shoulder up. Fans erupt as he does so and Nate looks at the ref, shocked he didn’t get 3.
Miles: Icon digging down and getting his shoulder up, literally at the last possible moment.
Ceadr: Nate is shocked, he thought he had this won, they don’t call Icon the Toughest SOB in XWA for nothing.
Insano stands up and pulls Icon to his feet. He waist locks him and throws him overhead with a belly to belly suplex. He sits up and holds the back of his neck briefly, before standing up, Icon slowly starts to stir, breathing heavy, he starst to roll over and holds his lower back as Nate backs up into the corner on the opposite side of the ring. He squats down and yells at Icon to get up. Slowly Icon gets to his feet, to all fours and then to one knee, then slowly to his feet, he steps forward as Nate charges towards Icon like a freight train. Right before contact, Icon side steps him and Nate goes through the middle and top turnbuckles and hits the ringpost shoulder first.
Cedar: Insano missed the Ripper! He may have separated his shoulder on the post!
Miles Talk about backfires, Icon saved his hide of that one.
Icon runs back to the corner Nate was just at. With his back against it he slams his right fist into his left palm. Nate gets out of the corner and clutches at his shoulder he backs up a few steps asn as he turns around Icon runs at him and leaps into the air. Cocking his fist back, with his left arm extended out, he thrusts his fist forward right into the face of Nate Insano!
Cedar: Straight Outta the 406! He just leveled the Insane One!
Miles: He’s knocked guys out cold with that, last week it was with the aid of Brass Knuckles.
Icon lands on his feet then walks over top the corner, he steps out to the apron going between the top and middle ropes. He then climbs up to the top turnbuckle, he stands up, before leaping off into the air. He flips forwards and crashes back first on top of the prone body of Nate Insano. He sits up on the mat briefly before rolling to his side and covering Nate, he hooks both legs. Sanu is righ there for the count 1! 2! 3!
Sanu calls for the bell as American Badass hits the sound system,
DING DING DING
Watts: Here is your winner by Pinfall The Xtreme Icon!
Icon rolls off Insano and lays on the mat for a few seconds. After that he starts to get to his feet, holding his back.
Cedar: Icon with another huge win tonight, hhe’s rollig into the second round of the King of Xtreme Tournament!
Miles: HE beat Nicholas Carson a few weeks ago, he beat Genghis Vaughn last week in abrutal hardcore match and he knocked off Nate Insano tonight.
Icon stands up and yells at Laura Watts to hand him a mic, he walks over to the ropes and she does between the middle and top ropes.
Icon: Cut the music (the music dies down)
Nate is starting to get to his feet as well, he is up to one knee.
Icon: Nate, both of us for years have busted our asses in this ring making names for ourselves. Tonight, we proved why we are two of the best to ever step foot in an XWA Ring.
Nate stands up and looks at Icon, holding his midsection. Icon sticks his hand out in a gesture of respect. Nate looks at it, then the crowd, he returns it and shakes Icons hand.
Icon: Next time we face off, lets make it an Extreme match for the ages.
Nate leans to the mic and says “You got it” before leaving the ring. He holds his midsaection as he does so.
Icon: Now, I didn’t just enter the KOX Tournament for nothing. I have one goal in WA I have yet to achieve, and that’s the World Title, I will win this thing and go onto Xtrememania and ascend the Tower of Doom to grab that damn belt. I will put whoever I have to through tables. Slice people up and beat them so bad they have to utter that two word, five letter phrase to achieve that goal. Now, there’s a bar stool, some cold beer calling my name, along with an old High School friend living here in San Diego, the party is just beginning!
Icon drops the mic and grabs his trademark barbed wire wrapped singapore cane. He climbs up to the second turnbuckle and holds it over his head as the show cuts to commercial.
