| Popular WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan, who has been sidelined since spring recovering from neck surgery, will make his much-anticipated return to the spotlight on this Monday’s episode of Raw, according to a teenager who has a wrestling blog.
“My sources guaruntee (sic) that Bryan will be back in action on Monday,” wrote 18-year-old Brayden Lipke on his Shoot Wrestling News blog, though he failed to reveal that his “sources” are a tweet that he briefly saw, or perhaps dreamed about, last night.
Lipke also confirmed that Bryan will immediately “call out (CM) Punk because their (sic) scheduled to fight at WrestleMania 31.”
Naturally, millions of wrestling fans are abuzz with excitement over the news — partly because they miss seeing Bryan in action, but largely because they tend to uncritically believe anything they read on the internet.
WWE has neither confirmed nor denied the news, nor even paid the slightest attention to yet another shoddily researched and poorly written wrestling news blog.
Although Lipke frequently reports rumors and hearsay without checking facts or verifying sources, he has built a loyal following because he still has a far better accuracy rate than Bleacher Report. |

| "he has built a loyal following because he still has a far better accuracy rate than Bleacher Report." My favorite part of the article. This was so perfect. People need to realize BR and other wrestling news sites are bs when predicting things. They always say they have 'sources' but they never say what those sources are. Or 'people working in the company' but they don't say any names. For all we know, they could be asking the janitors. Then they make bullshit predictions (Sheamus will fight Bryan at WM30) and then when it doesnt happen, they say it was because of them. (original plans were Sheamus v Bryan, but when everyone got mad at the idea, they changed it. it was cause of us!) Same thing conspiracy theorists do lol. |

| Wrestling promotions do sometimes change things after stuff they're going to do is revealed. Like after Wresting Observer stated Jake Roberts was leaving Mid-South Wrestling so he was going to loose his last match Bill Watts had him win it instead.
And I would gamble that creative changes course a lot too. Things like a WWE Round Robin Tournament didn't happen.
It could be wrong information they are getting as well. Someone could have a agenda. Maybe they want to spoil someone's reputation and give out false information.
But I wouldn't say the won't make stuff up. Fuck if Fox News can get away with it then others will try to as well. |

Ohh yeah, it's so stupid. By your logic, anyone can write an article, say whatever they want in it, say "sources told us" and every stupid sheep will follow it. If it's true, they win coincidence points. If it isn't, they can say it was cause of them. Hell, what's stopping me from becoming a 'journalist' on BR and saying "My sources told me that CM Punk is actually not gone but hiding as the Bunny and intends to return in a few weeks." ?? Then when it doesn't happen, I can say "It's because fans found out and got mad so WWE changed it." And the stupid sheep like you will eat it right up. |

| Razor, there's a reason they don't have to reveal their sources: others would use them! However, it does create a problem where people just make sources up. It's a tough line to walk. |

| That's my point. I'm not saying they should reveal their sources, I'm saying people need to stop believing these 'so called' journalists and using them as arguments to justify things. |

| To be fair, wrestling journalism is pretty much one or two guys with actual sources saying they've heard things through the grape vine, that some people have told them things etc and then sites like Rajah and WrestlingINC stretch out and manipulate what was said. It's how "one person backstage said Punk is 100% returning but I don't believe them" turned into "DAVE MELTZER 100% CONFIRMS CM PUNK RETURN!". Meltzer and Alvarez are trust worthy and get it right about as best as they can, but they're also not the ones making up the outlandish headlines which get attributed to them. |
