| With it always been such a huge issue and with the recent NFL players being exposed for doing it. Would it be interesting if WWE did a Domestic violence angle?
I know one comment someone will post on why not. That WWE and wrestling will get shit on by the media for having such a storyline.
There was just a fucking movie trailer about domestic violence on TV. There is a Tyler Perry movie on right now that is all about Domestic violence. If movies and TV shows can have it, why not wrestling? |

| Fairly sure they did one back in 1999 and it was garbage. |

| WWE tried to make a "Sex Predator" Angle (with the famous "Bestiality Sex" phrase) and it was horrendous, at the very least. At this very time, they should stick to the PG crap they're shoving down people's throats. They're losing money anyway. |

| What possible benefit could be gained for WWE from a domestic violence storyline? |

| Wasn't Jeff Jarrett's first gimmick a woman-beater? |

Well wrestling can be use to be a reflection of what is going on in the world. I mean look at Rusev, he is the most up to date thing right now with the world. How the US and Russia are at each others throats again. Having this type of angle you can show the villain of this type of angle as a slimy human being. Showing someone who does that type of thing is like that. |

| but then again, who ever gets stuck with the villain character will never bounce back from something like that even tho he isn't really like that. |

I love it when people still put the blame on the PG rating. Raw and Smackdown could be TV-MA and the writing could still suck ass. |

| The fact that there's a Tyler Perry movie on the subject should be all the proof you need that it's a garbage concept. |

| Oh, good. Tyler Perry has never done anything of valuable in his entire career. On topic, though, since I never gave a genuine response: I think using domestic violence for an angle would be a bad idea for WWE. Let's put aside the fact that WWE has zero tact with angles like this. Assuming they somehow did an angle where they treated the subject with the gravitas it deserves, it would still permanently damage the performer doing the gimmick (as was mentioned above), and you would almost certainly open up a can of worms. Suddenly people are talking about WWE using the angle, and almost certainly the narrative from non-wrestling sources would be "WWE uses real-life trauma and controversy to grab cheap ratings." Then you've got JBL on commentary defending the guy (though probably not the abuse, I think JBL would side-step that the way he sometimes does with truly "despicable" heel tactics). It's way too easy to imagine Cole and JBL getting into an argument where JBL comes out looking pro-abuse, which would be a whole other controversy. That's all moot, though, because knowing WWE it'd go in the "better left forgotten" pile with Katie Vick, etc. |
