It seems that David Lucado is using the "we were on a break" defense from Friends. TMZ reports that Birtney Spears' ex-boyfriend claims that he only hooked up with another woman (which was recorded) after Spears left him. Lucado has told his friends that Spears broke up with him through a text message on August 6. They had been arguing over "outside influences" controlling her life, including her conservators. Spears sent him a message that said: "I'm done with you."

Lucado got together with the other woman the next night on August 7. Lucado and Spears reunited on August 8. Spears' father owns the video. Lucado wants to contact Spears to explain what happened but those around her won't let him.
