- - Ring of Honor are currently in the process of re-signing many of its talents to new contracts that would give them exclusive rights to the performers going forward, still allowing them to work independent dates but under the approval of ROH management. Another part of the new contracts will be that the talent can’t appear in an area ROH plans to run in the near future on a date within four weeks of the event. This business strategy will allow ROH to brand their talents. The company tried a similar method to this in 2011 when Sinclair Broadcasting took over, many of the people contracted were reportedly unhappy however as they had many independent dates rejected by then ROH head booker, Jim Cornette. ROH recently re-signed ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly, amid rumors Davey Richards was trying to convince them to join TNA, and also recently re-signed The Briscoes to new deals.
- While it’s not known where, ROH will be running the San Jose/San Francisco area next year during WrestleMania 31 weekend. ROH are among the promotions not allowed to run in the Santa Clara area due to a deal WWE made with Santa Clara city officials when the deal to bring WrestleMania to the city was made. They’ve also instructed hotels in the area to not lease to other wrestling promotions.
- ROH drew between 900 – 1,100 to Chicago Ridge’s Frontier Fieldhouse for Death Before Dishonor Night 2, and sold-out Turner Hall the night before in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Many who attended the first night have noted that the crowd was loud all night and into every wrestler and moment. ROH will be returning to Milwaukee on Friday, March 13, so expect this to be a double shot weekend with Chicago being announced at a later date for the Saturday.
- ROH announced their return to Chicago for October 9, a Thursday, at 115 Bourbon Street. This is the same venue they held their Night of Hoopla event last year. Speculation is that this will either be Future of Honor 3, ROH’s development shows or a Women of Honor show, as ROH are supposedly in the process of setting up a womens division. http://www.pwmania.com/roh-signing-talents-to-new-contracts-status-on-rohwrestlemania-31-weekend-plans-more#ixzz3BZ1JUx1R |
