Electronic Arts announced today that Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard will be the NBA Live 15 cover athlete.

"I'm so honored and I'm so blessed to be in this position. I'm thankful to EA sports for making me the cover guy. It's been a long time coming, took a lot of hard work, and it's a dream come true," Lillard told fans in a video posted to his Instagram account.

Lillard, drafted by Portland in 2012, went on to win Rookie of the Year in 2013. The All-Star guard just finished his second year in the NBA, helping the Blazers to the playoffs with an average of just under 21 points and 5.6 assists per game. Lillard is the first Trail Blazer to be featured on the NBA Live cover.

NBA Live 15 is next-gen only and will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 October 7.
