According to Forbes, fans are seeing WWE Summerslam ticket prices drop due to financial trouble within the company.
The article states the secondary market will feature the lowest ticket prices in four years, and Summerslam is easier to analyze than other pay-per-views because it is held in the same building annually. The Staples Center in Los Angeles has hosted ‘the biggest party of the summer’ every year since 2009.
Forbes also notes that the average ticket price has dropped nearly $8, and it is the lowest since 2011. They insinuate this drop could be because of financial trouble in WWE, but also because of lack of variety in both the venue and matches. Either John Cena or Brock Lesnar, this year’s main event participants, have been in a singles match main event at Summerslam each year for the past four years.
