Business Week recently published an article about Levi’s Stadium, the host of next year’s Wrestlemania 31 in California.
The article gave an early review of the facility, and it saw the new Wrestlemania venue criticized for things like slow public transportation and lack of amenities considering its $1.3 billion price tag.
It’s not all negative though, and the author does credit the stadium for making good use of its visual surroundings, including the Silicon Valley mountains, and says the concourses are easy to navigate and spacious, among other things.
The article is pretty fair in assessments on both sides, and you can read an excerpt below:
“…with Levi’s Stadium, the 49ers had a chance to make a real statement. The team had shifted from the old, decrepit Candlestick Stadium, caught in a no-man’s-land between San Francisco and the monied suburbs of Silicon Valley. The 49ers could have built something as beautiful at AT&T Park—something with character and unique architectural elements. Instead, they built something that is nice, functional, and unspectacular. Wasn’t the whole point of Levi’s Stadium to appeal to the ultrarich who spend their days immersed in technological wonder?”
