Impact Wrestling Taping Results for September 4th:

*Bobby Roode promo. He says after the photo finish, TNA has decided that he and Eric young will have a singles match to determine who gets the number one contender spot for the TNA title. He calls out Eric Young and says they have a long history but have to go into battle next week. He said they are doing it for the right reason, to become the TNA champion. He said they broke in together and both became TNA champions. They will face next week. Young said he gets asked all the time who the best wrestler in the world is and he says it’s Bobby Roode. There was a sizable CM Punk chant so they paused. They agreed they were going to tear the roof off next week.

*Taryn Terrell pinned Madison Rayne.

*The debuting Chris Melendez defeated DJ Zema Ion with a side slam.

*The Great Sanada, who James Storm introduced as the first of many who will under go a rebirth under his hand, defeated Austin Aries in a good match. Aries was on the top when Storm shook the ropes and crotched him, allowing Sanada to spew the green mist and kick him for the pin.

*TNA champion Bobby Lashley, Kenny King and MVP came out. MVP ripped on NYC and said Bobby was the toughest man in the world and would soon be the Bellator champion too. X-Division champ Samoa Joe came out and said Lashley isn’t the toughest man in the world, the city or in this ring. He challenges Lashley to fight him to see who the toughest man is. Kenny King got in his face and was laid out. MVP and Lashley attacked Joe. Atlas Security hit the ring to break it up and Joe was held back. They will fight later tonight.

* DJ Zema Ion vs. Manik vs. Tigre Uno vs. Homicide vs. Crazzy Steve vs. Low Ki in a #1 contender’s match is next. Homicide gets the win. After the match, Storm and Sanada come in. Sanada kicks Manik and they drag him off to the back.

* Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud come out. They cut a promo until Rhino interrupts and attacks Ethan, setting up a match for later.

* Roode vs. Young in a #1 contender’s match is next. This was a great exchange with the crowd into it. Lots of near finishes. Roode gets the win and they shake hands after the match. It’s possible TNA is taping out of order tonight between the two episodes.
