Samuel L Jackson has suggested that the timing is right for a Marvel movie based solely around his character Nick Fury.
The SHIELD boss has featured heavily in the entire history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and most recently appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.
Jackson said at San Diego Comic-Con International this weekend that he would "of course" be interested in spinning off the character into his own feature film.
"I think Nick Fury would be an interesting guy to have his own movie," he told Entertainment Weekly.
The actor was quick to caution that he has no idea if such a project will ever be greenlit by Marvel.
Jackson revealed earlier this year that he is "not doing much" in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.
"It's another one of those 'people who have powers fighting people who have powers' [movies]," he explained, adding: "There's not a lot I could do except shoot a gun."
Marvel Studios has announced six release dates for mystery projects, with more concrete details expected to be announced at the Marvel Cinematic Universe panel at Comic-Con today.
Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on May 1, 2015 in the US and April 24, 2015 in the UK.
