Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic adventure The Last of Us will be coming to a new format next week: the theater.
To commemorate the launch of The Last of Us Remastered, a live theatrical performance called The Last of Us: One Night Live will consist of a live reading of selected scenes from the game from actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Merle Dandridge, Hana Hayes and Annie Wersching. It will be performed under the direction of creative director and writer Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog.
One Night Live will be performed only once, according to a PlayStation Blog post, at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Calif., on Monday, July 28 at 7 p.m. PT.
The performance will be intercut with video from motion capture sessions filmed during the development of The Last of Us, and composer Gustavo Santaolalla will perform selections from his score. It is unclear, but probable, whether anyone else from the cast will break out into song.
If you can't attend the performance in person, the PlayStation Blog says "select portions of the program" will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube and PlayStation Network's Live Event Viewer.
The Last of Us was released for PlayStation 3 last year. Its Remastered edition arrives for PS4 next week on July 29.
