Twilight's Bill Condon will bring Disney's Beauty and the Beast back to the big screen, it has been confirmed.
Condon has been tapped to direct the live-action feature, 23 years after the animated version first opened in cinemas.
Beauty and the Beast drew an estimated $425 million worldwide back in 1991 and is the latest Disney classic due for the live-action treatment, following the May 28 release of Maleficent.
The Sleeping Beauty re-imagining starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning, has already grossed $100.6m across 47 territories.
Disney's next live-action project is Cinderella, which will focus on the tale's famous lost slipper.
As well as working on the final two Twilight movies, Condon has also directed The Fifth Estate and Dreamgirls.
