The Last of Us lead developers Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann are working on Uncharted 4.
Having worked on the first two games in the Uncharted series, the pair will return to lead development on the upcoming sequel.
The news was confirmed by Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra in an interview with Game Informer.
"They are excited as veterans of the Uncharted franchise to take the responsibility and they're doing great," Wells explained.
Asked if the pair bring a new spirit to the game in terms of direction, Wells continued: "It was not a difficult transition at all. Everybody just sort of accepted that as the new order of things and soldiered on.
"I mean we've been making enormous progress. If anything, things are accelerating instead of slowing down."
Balestra hinted at a few changes to the series, admitting that Straley and Druckmann would "adjust what they've got and make it what they think is right".
"They also had a lot of really good experience with the development of The Last of Us and some production philosophies that they're able to incorporate into the production of Uncharted," Wells added.
During the same interview, Wells and Balestra said that a project 'on the scale' of Uncharted was in the 'very early' pre-production stages.
