Edgar Ramirez has entered talks for the Point Break remake.
The Zero Dark Thirty actor is in line to replace Gerard Butler in the role of Bodhi for director Ericson Core's film.
Point Break centres around FBI agent Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), who goes undercover to break a criminal ring within the extreme sports scene, of whom Bodhi is the ringleader.
Ray Winstone was most recently added to the cast.
Ramirez recently completed filming on the Roberto Duran biopic Hands of Stone with Robert DeNiro. He will next be seen with Eric Bana in Deliver Us from Evil.
Point Break will begin shooting in June.
