7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction Empty
PostSubject: Re: 7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction   7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction EmptyTue Oct 08, 2013 12:11 am

Ted Cedar
"It's time for a return match from Vendetta #60, Dennis. It was on that edition of Vendetta that Drake Dysfunction and JHalc competed against each other in order to earn a spot in the Elimination Chamber match set to take place at the upcoming King of Xtreme event, and it was the Intercontinental Champion who came out victorious."

Adam Dennis
"To describe that moment as 'shocking' would be a huge understatement. The Jack of Hearts now has an opportunity to make up for that upset because, up next, he faces the Intercontinental Champion, Drake Dysfunction, again. He looks to beat him this time around."

*We'll see if JHalc can really get the job done here and NOT give us that upsetting performance he did on Vendetta #60. To start things off, we hear the opening bell before we hear Laura Watts announce.*

Laura Watts
"Ladies and gentlemen, the following is set for one-fall! Introducing the first participant from Los Angeles, California. He weighed in this morning at 220 pounds. He is the Intercontinental Champion DRAKE DYSFUNCTION!"

*We instantly hear the sound of "Whatever" by Godsmack hit the PA system. The Intercontinental Champion walks out onto the stage, wearing his gold strap around his waist, looking and feeling confident as he'll ever get. He shoots his fist up in the air, releasing his battle cry before marching down the ramp leading to the squared circle. He slides into the ring removing his championship belt as he walks to the far turnbuckle. Standing on the second turnbuckle, he raises the championship high in the air, screaming that battle cry again.*

Ted Cedar
"You see the confident stride in the first man to come out. He has taken us by surprise two Vendetta's in a row. At Vendetta #60, he defeated former XWA Champion JHalc to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match at King of Xtreme. If you thought that was upsetting, on Vendetta #61, he picked up a victory over former XWA Champion and the 2010 King of Xtreme winner Kanimaniac!"

Adam Dennis
"Drake has been impressive as of late, but can we say the same thing about him tonight?"

Ted Cedar
"I suppose we'll find out soon enough."

*Drake's music fades out, and we now hear the theme of the man coming out now.*

Laura Watts
"And his opponent from San Diego, California weighing in at 217 pounds. 'The Jack of Hearts' JHALC!!!!"

THIS IS NOISE!

*"Chamber the Cartridge" by Rise Against starts off at the slow pace that we're used to hearing by now, with the drum line going and the guitar just having that awesome intro for this awesome individual: "The Jack of Hearts" JHalc. Out he comes to a mixed ovation due to his chaotically neutral attitude he carries day-in and day-out in the XWA. He appears on the stage without the sense of confidence about him we saw at Vendetta #60. No. Instead, we see a scowl on the face of the D-Volution member as he directs his attention towards the man standing in the ring right now, who answers the scowl from JHalc with a shit-eating grin.*

*Dysfunction's positioned in front of the ropes facing the entrance ramp, with his right foot on the bottom rope in a Captain Morgan-like stance while having his arms draped over the top rope. However, JHalc ain't in the mood to be playing games tonight as his expression does not change. He's stood on the top of the ramp for a while now, not taking his view off his target; a target responsible for JHalc not being able to fight for the World Heavyweight Championship come King of Xtreme. He's sporting his usual gear as he finally makes his way down the ramp with a quick pace. Pretty soon, this quickened pace turns to slow jogging before it builds up into a full-on sprint that sees JHalc ultimately sliding into the ring to go after Drake, who had backed up to the center of the ring, daring JHalc to come at him.*

*JHalc catches Drake off-guard as he tackles champion, now mounting him as he unleashes a flurry of punches.*

DING DING DING!!!

Ted Cedar
"And here we go with JHalc on the offensive!"

*Drake's trying his best to block the shots from the furious JHalc as he doesn't relent from the offense. The lefts and rights are repeatedly being brought down hard onto the Demolitionist, and Drake's defensive tactics are barely helping him out here... until Drake musters up the strength to get off his back and turn the tables on JHalc. Now JHalc is the one being mounted on, with Drake now reigning down some hard left and right blows. JHalc manges to slide out underneath Drake Dysfunction. Both men quickly gain their footing on the mat and go charging towards the ring ropes opposite from each other, respectively. Both men ricochet off the ropes and go airborne at the same time, ramming into one another with crossbodies.*

Adam Dennis
"Double crossbody! This has gotten intense from the start!"

*JHalc and Drake make it on their feet at the same time. JHalc goes for a haymaker, but misses as Drake goes under it and grapples him from behind the waist. He then lifts up JHalc and drives him on the back of his head with a German suplex. After that German, he rolls around to a footed base with his grip still intact, boding for a second German suplex. During the process, he releases his grip, causes JHalc to land back-first into the corner. Drake, now on all-fours, crawls backwards, spacing himself away from JHalc who now sits raggedly in the corner, legs spread open and all. Drake then gets on his feet before he goes running. He leaps into the air and his boots soon connect with the midsection of the Jack of Hearts.*

Ted Cedar
"Hesitation dropkick in the corner! He drilled him hard with that one!"

Adam Dennis
"Pfft! 'Drilled' him REAL hard, huh?"

Ted Cedar
"Oh shut up, would ya?"

*Following the hesitation dropkick to the corner, Drake pulls JHalc up to his feet before spearing him into the same corner. He then proceeds to driving the shoulder into his gut over and over and over again. The referee is trying to get Drake Dysfunction to relent from the attack, even resorting to the 5-count. Drake caves in to the refs "bitching" by backing off, which is a distraction that JHalc takes advantage of. He boots the midsection of the Demolitionist, then proceeding to Irish whip him to the other corner. Drake manages to stop himself from hitting the corner, his back turned to the oncoming SIW alumnus. Before you know it, JHalc rams his knees into the back of D-Double, and Drake was unable to see it coming.*

Adam Dennis
"JHALC EXPRESS! Goodness, that's nasty!"

*Drake, now limp, gets taken out of the corner and tossed to the side. He then gets dragged to the center of the ring, laying flat on his back. Without hesitation, JHalc takes this chance to spring off the middle rope. However, before he can successfully connect with the lionsault, Drake rolls out of the way, causing JHalc to hit nothing but canvas. Drake scrambles to his feet quickly just as JHalc gets on all fours, favoring his ribs. Drake quickly sprints towards the ropes and, coming off of them, goes airborne into a senton splash to the back of JHalc.*

Ted Cedar
"Good god, he just flattened JHalc with that one!"

Adam Dennis
"Great job by Drake Dysfunction to capitalize on that!"

*Dysfunction turns JHalc over onto his back and covers him.*

1...

2...

*JHalc gets the shoulder up at 2, the ref showing Drake the two fingers that Drake cannot believe to be true. He wishes there were 3 fingers shown in his face, but that's simply not the case. He grabs JHalc by the head and pulls him up to his feet. The Jack of Hearts' legs are a tad wobbly, but he still manages to stand. Drake places JHalc's arm behind his head, getting him in the STO clutch.*

Adam Dennis
"Uh-oh! D-4 time!!"

Ted Cedar
"JHalc is familiar with how this feels."

*Yes, but Drake is also familiar with how an elbow to the side of the head feels. JHalc uses his elbow shots as an advantage to get out of this D-4 attempt, which serves him well. He then sets up his own STO clutch on Drake Dysfunction. Before you know, Drake Dysfunction becomes the victim of the Side Effect, a move that sends both men on their backs, but Drake is left feeling the worst of it. JHalc, however, makes it back to his feet, taking hold of the opportunity that he has as he goes for the lionsault again. He springs off the middle rope into a moonsault and lands across the midsection of Drake Dysfunction, letting us know that this second attempt at the lionsault was a successful attempt. From there, JHalc hooks the leg.*

1...

2...

THR-

*And Drake gets the shoulder up at what could be made out to be the last split second. JHalc shows his frustration as he latches onto the head of the Demolitionist, pulling him up to his feet. As soon as he gets him up, he pulls him back down, but in a different manner that not even the ones watching expected.*

Adam Dennis
"FLYING TRIANGLE!! The Flying Triangle locked in! Drake is in trouble now!"

*Is he ever! This expert chokehold is leaving Drake fading fast as he spurts out some spit, trying to breathe as the hold keeps sinking in more and more. It looks hopeless for Drake here as he's turning beet-red FAST. JHalc smiles at the latest victim of his sadistic submission maneuver as he contently applies more pressure. Time goes by and the referee is close to calling it, but then Drake begins moving and begins the attempt at maneuvering to the ropes that are fortunately nearby. He inches nearer and nearer, closer and closer to his salvation while the fans are at the edge of their seats, looking on to see if the Intercontinental Champion will tap. Luckily, they won't be seeing anyone tap out at this time as his foot reaches the bottom rope and now rests upon it. The ref starts the count.*

1...

2...

3...

4...

And JHalc reluctantly releases the hold. As the first one to get to his feet while Drake tries to catch his breath, he gets no reprieve as JHalc begins stomping on him, trying to weaken him even more. The ref, however, interferes with the onslaught as he pulls JHalc away from Dysfunction. Drake makes it back to his feet in time for JHalc to slip past the referee. However, it's his downfall as, in a flash, he gets a Dysfunction Kick for his troubles.*

Adam Dennis
"GOD DAMN!!! He just got his teeth kicked down his throat!!!"

*A nicely-placed, hard kick to the jaw would make anyone say that. In this case, it makes the fans "Oh!!!!" at the sight of JHalc's head tilt back while spit emerges from his mouth from the impact. JHalc then falls down onto his back, looking out cold. Drake doesn't end it here, though. He made a promise to make JHalc feel the Dysfunctional Disaster once again, and that is what he's going to do. While JHalc is so incapacitated that he may not even feel it, Drake would be satisfied, nonetheless. He slowly pulls JHalc off the mat and to where he's tucked underneath him.*

Ted Cedar
"Something tells me that Drake wants to send a message to this man."

Adam Dennis
"You think?"

*Without wasting any time, Drake flips JHalc up to where he's racked on his shoulder before turning him into the elevated DDT that completes the Dysfunctional Disaster finishing maneuver.

Adam Dennis
"And he hits the Dysfunctional Disaster!!!"

*Drake then turns JHalc over onto his back, and this is the time where he hooks the leg.*

1..

2..

3!!!

DING DING DING!!!

*"Whatever" by Godsmack plays over the PA and Drake stands up with help from the referee, getting his hand raised in victory in the process.*

Laura Watts
"The winner of this match: DRAKE DYSFUNCTION!!!"

Adam Dennis
"He beat him AGAIN! I don't know, Ted. I kinda like his chances at the Elimination Chamber. He keeps rounding out wins like these, and he's sure to be one of the favorites."

Ted Cedar
"He sure is an impressive individual, but remember who's in that chamber match with him. He's got his work definitely cut out for him."

Adam Dennis
"There are no easy roads in the XWA. You know that, and he definitely knows it."

*We watch as Drake Dysfunction leaves the ring with his gold in-hand. He walks up the ramp and heads to the backstage area as we cut to a commercial break.*

7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction Empty
PostSubject: Re: 7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction   7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction EmptySun Oct 13, 2013 12:00 am

We come back from commercial break following a powerful David Michaels promo with both men already in the ring. JHalc's music is still playing through the PA system, and the camera zooms in on him as he reaches over the top turnbuckle nearest to the announce team and places his hat up on the ring post. Jay looks down to the floor outside the ring to see that his partner, David Michaels has yet to leave the ringside area. With a smile on his face, Jay comically turns and stomps his foot on the ground, mocking The Showstealer. The two lock eyes and come to some kind of unspoken agreement, with David backing away from the ring and moving over to the announce table. The timekeeper passes a chair to him and he takes a seat next to Adam Dennis. David grabs a headset and places it on his head as JHalc turns away and focuses his attention on the IC Champion.

Dennis:
Apparently we are going to be joined at the announce table by "The Showstealer" David Michaels.

Michaels:
I think you mean the next XWA World Champion David Michaels.

Cedar:
Any reason we are going to be graced with your presence?

Michaels:
Chalk it up to me not having gotten enough of your ugly mug yet.

Dennis:
Clearly David is here to get a close look at one of his chamber opponents in action.

Michaels:
Yea.... let's go with that....

DING DING DING

The official steps out from between the two men and Jay immediately sprints at the champion. Drake raises his boot to cut the former world champion off, but The Jack of Hearts slides under the leg and ends up behind his opponent. Jay starts to rise to his feet and Drake turns on his heel, bringing a right hand around. The shot connects with Jay's cheekbone and the force straightens him up. Drake follows with a second shot, but this time Jay gets his hand up to block and parries with an elbow that catches Drake around the same spot that Jay had absorbed a hit just a moment ago. The IC champ backs up a step and JHalc takes that as a sign to stay on offense. He steps to him, and throws another shot but Drake catches the elbow strike with both hands and forcefully shoves Jay backwards. The Jack of Hearts is only off balance for a moment but Dysfunction fits a dropkick into the small window of opportunity and sends JHalc to the mat on his back.

Cedar:
These two seemed to have learned a little something from each other in their first meeting.

Michaels:
That's where you are mistaken. JHalc is always two steps ahead.

Dennis:
And that is precisely why he is on his back in the middle of the ring.

Michaels:
Shut up look-a-like....

JHalc rolls backwards, away from his opponent, and gets his feet planted under him on the mat. He pushes himself back up to a vertical base but Drake Dysfunction is right on top of him, calling for, and locking the smaller man up with a collar-elbow tie up. Jay is pushed back into the ropes but uses the momentum of the rebound to push the IC champion back on his heels. The former world champion backs his adversary up to the center of the ring but, sensing his lack of control, Drake plants his left foot on the mat and then lifts his right to catch JHalc in his surgically repaired knee, dropping him to his knees on the mat and drawing boos from the crowd. Feeding off the negative energy Drake slaps JHalc across the face, and screams at him to get back up. The Jack of Hearts doesn't disappoint. He pops up and the two lock up for a second time. JHalc quickly forces him back into the ropes enraged, but as soon as they hit the ropes the official steps in between them and tries to break them up. JHalc releases his grip and Drake raises his hands for a clean break, but with a smile on his face. JHalc flashes his signature half smirk and then fires a left handed slap that jerks Drake's head almost all the way around.

Dennis:
What a slap!

Cedar:
I suppose that makes the two of them equal....

Michaels:
In no world are these two equal.

Drake comes off the ropes, shoving the official out of the way and swinging an arm at JHalc that lacks any kind of aim. The smaller man bats the shot away and follows with another slap to Drake's face which only goes to irritate him more. Drake throws another feral punch and the former world champion doesn't even have to smack it away in order to avoid contact. Jay sidesteps and fires a third slap, this time the sound of his laughter is almost a deafening as the impact itself. Drake, however, is done throwing punches and instead surges forward, tackling JHalc to the mat and then pummeling him in the ribs with right and left elbows that The Jack of Hearts can't hope to defend. The referee inserts himself again, and tries to pull Drake off. He fails in his effort but he allows enough space for Jay to get his arms up, and shove his opponent backwards. Drake pulls himself free of the official, but the Jack of Hearts has already covered up. The official starts to pull him back again and this time Jay fires a hard shot to the center of Dysfunction's chest cavity. The shot takes the air out of him, and he leans backwards. The official pulls him back, screaming at him about a possible disqualification as JHalc escapes and rolls away.

Cedar:
JHalc should be thanking the official for that save.

Michaels:
You mean for doing his job?

Again the IC champ manages to shrug off the referee and this time it is fast enough for him to stay on offense. Drake takes two big steps and grabs JHalc in a side headlock as the smaller man tries to rise to his feet. With veteran instinct, Jay backpedals to the ropes and pushes off of them as hard as he can while tucking his head. The former world champion manages to pop his head loose and his momentum, and a hard shove, sends Drake running across the ring into the turnbuckles. Drake hits his back hard against the turnbuckle pads, and turns his attention back towards JHalc only to see that the smaller man is running towards him at top speed. Drake tries to get his arms up, but Jay is moving much to fast and connects with a big leaping clothesline that positions him sitting on the middle rope. Drake stumbles forward out of the corner and the Jack of Hearts wastes no time setting up his next move. He slides outside the ring and quickly ascends to the top rope behind his opponent. Drake pushes himself up to his feet and turns around, only to come face to face with a now airborne JHalc that drops his hard to the mat with a crossbody. Thinking equally as fast as his opponent Drake tucks his head, and allows Jay's momentum to carry them backwards, even once they hit the ground. Drake rolls, carrying Jay with him in a front crucifix position until Jay is the one with his shoulders to the mat. Drake then locks his hands together for a cradle-like pin attempt.

1!

2!

Easy kickout before three!

Cedar:
The champ seems to have an answer for all of JHalc's offense this time around.

Dennis:
At this rate it doesn't look like JHalc has a chance to win this match-up, let alone a third contest with the title on the line.

Michaels:
I don't think the three of us are watching the same match, and for the record, when Jay wants something there is not a whole lot you can do to stop him from getting it.

Cedar:
You've got to be as delusional as he is....

Michaels:
You've got to shut your mouth before you end up spitting out pieces of my boot for the next week.

Both men quickly shuffle to their feet. Jay throws a left handed shot that gets smacked away. Drake follows up the block with a chop across his adversary's chest that draws a WOOO from the crowd. Drake steps up to take another shot but the Jack of Hearts ducks under this one and steps behind the bigger man. The former world champion reaches back over his shoulder and hooks his opponent's head before letting his legs fall out from under him. Drake is dragged down into a sit down neckbreaker that makes the crowd wince in pain. Jay doesn't bother with the pin, instead he turns around and immediately gets back to his feet, pulling Drake up by his head as he gets to a vertical base. Jay hits him with a European-style uppercut that sends him stagger back to rebound off the ropes. When the champ bounces back towards Jay, the Jack of Hearts grabs him by the wrist and attempts to whip him back into the same corner that was profitable for him moments ago. Drake doesn't let go of his wrist though, and spins around, instead turning the momentum and whipping Jay into the corner. The former world champion stops just short of impact and turns, knowing that his opponent can't be too far behind. Drake rushes into a big back elbow in the face that knocks him backwards. He is only off balance for a moment though, and tries to rush back in at JHalc but the smaller man throws himself down to the mat and hooks Dysfunction's foot to drop him face first into the middle turnbuckle pad with a drop toe hold. Jay pushes himself up and runs to the opposite corner, pausing just for a second to let Drake get into position. He takes off running as Drake sits up in the corner. However, as Jay comes through the center of the ring, the champion explodes out of the corner and dives forward. JHalc is moving to quickly to even think about avoiding the contact, and the impact from the clothesline flips him backwards and he lands stomach first on the mat. Drake collapses on the mat next to him as the official bends down to check on the smaller man.

Cedar:
JHalc is turned inside out! Will he be able to recover?

Michaels:
Undoubtedly.

Dennis:
We'll be right back!

The show cuts to commercial with the referee standing over both men.

=================================================================
Sandy Ravage hasn't retired from the announcing game....
7.) JHalc vs Drake Dysfunction Macho-man-randy-savage-national-holiday
... just ask Dante Cross! OHHHH YEAAAA!
=================================================================

The show comes back from commercial with JHalc down on his knees in a side headlock. Drake is leaning on him hard to keep him down and the referee is in front of the duo asking the smaller man if he wants to submit.

Cedar:
Drake Dysfunction has had control all through the commercial break.

Dennis:
....and for those of you just joining us, we have already had a huge night of main event quality matches with this one looking to be no different.

Michaels:
Don't forget we also have the next XWA World Champion on commentary.

Dennis:
How could we forget?

Michaels:
... because the only qualification to get this commentary job is an IQ under 70.

Cedar:
Let's keep the focus on the action inside the ring.

JHalc fights up to his feet as the crowd starts to get behind him, picking a chaotic neutral star to get behind instead of the straight bad guy. Jay holds his free arm up and then fires a hard shot into Drake's midsection that loosens the grip on his head and neck. Another shot all but breaks the grip and Jay tries to pull himself free. Drake reassures his grip before the smaller man can break free. JHalc, now out of options, lays his full weight into Drake and pushes him back against the ropes. Like earlier in the match, Jay tries to push him off at a run but Drake refuses to relent, and instead spins, dragging Jay along for the ride. He throws the smaller man to the mat with a side headlock takedown. and tries to push Drake off a second time in the match but Drake uses the momentum to throw him to the mat with a side headlock takeover. Drake doesn't let go of his head and keeps him on his shoulders for the pin.

1!

2!

Another easy kickout before 3!

Cedar:
The Jack of Hearts seems to be stuck in neutral.

Dennis:
As long as he can keep kicking out, nothing else matters.

Michaels:
Now you're getting it....

Drake doesn't hesitate for a moment off the pinfall. As he gets up, he drags the former "Main Event" back up by his head but is surprised when Jay fires a shot to his stomach that creates some space between the two. The IC champion is able to shake off the shot like it is nothing, but the moment that it takes him to recuperate creates a small window of opportunity. Drake rushes back in but Jay snaps to life. Drake takes a step forward and Jay fires a kick to his gut to follow up, but Drake catches it. Drake starts to smile, but the smirk on JHalc's face immediately suppresses Drake's sense of humor. The former champion leaps with his free leg and brings his leg up to the temple of his opponent, hitting an enziguri that brings the crowd to life. Jay seems refreshed by his offense. He is back up quickly and sees Drake roll over onto his stomach. Jay runs to the ropes and leaps into the air. He lands on the middle one and backflips off of it. Camera flashes around the arena capture The Jack of Hearts in midair, completely inverted. Drake pushes up off the mat and up to all fours just in time for Jay to squash him with a lionsault.

Cedar:
JHalc using his offensive weapons uniquely tonight.

Michaels:
The man had a finisher that he could hit from anywhere at anytime and you're surprised he can adapt his offense to different situations?

Dennis:
Yea. You idiot.

Michaels:
Like you're any better....

JHalc hooks Drake's near arm and rolls him over onto his back before reaching over and hooking the far leg. The official slides into position as the fans count along.

1!

2!

Kickout with relative ease!

Much like Drake, JHalc doesn't even bother to argue the count. Instead, he stands up and waits for Drake to start to stir. Jay reaches up and pulls him by the hair into a seated position. Drake pushes him away but, expecting as much Jay takes a half step backwards and sizes up his opponent before delivering a stiff kick right to the chest that sends him back to the mat. The kick draws spots of boos from the crowd and a scorned look from the official, neither of which the Jack of Hearts cares about. Jay drops a knee on Drake's chest and shouts at the referee to count.

Cedar:
That was a despicable shot from JHalc.

1!

2!

An effortless kickout from Drake!

Dennis:
That was designed to be more insulting than effective.

Michaels:
It was meant to be amusing. Do they even pay you people?

Drake pushes Jay away so hard that he staggers backwards off center. The official is forced to press his lips together to suppress the smile, and subsequent enjoyment of seeing such. Drake is quick to his feet, recovering from the less than half-assed pin faster than JHalc can find his balance. The two come face to face and Jay runs in with an errant punch that gets ducked. Jay spins around, ready to defend but Drake leaps into the air, and grabs Jay by the head before forcing him down face first to the mat with the the Dysfunction Factor.

Cedar:
The champion goes back on offense and this one could be over!

1!

2!

Shoulder up just before 3!

Michaels:
Not quite.

Drake gets up and leaves his opponent laying on the ground while he plots his next move. He seems to be debating with himself about how he wants to proceed but stops as he sees Jay starting to stir. Jay gets up to his hands and knees only to for Drake to snap out of his confused state. He steps forward and punts the Jack of Hearts right in the ribs, sending him off the mat. Jay lands on his side near the ropes and tries to escape under and to the apron but his opponent makes sure that doesn't happen. Drake reaches down and helps him up by the hair on the back of his head. The former world champion is seeing stars and just goes through the motions as Drake whips him to the ropes. Jay rebounds off the ropes and sees Drake telegraphing his next move. Jay gets within reach and Drake scoops him up and spins him in the air looking for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker but as he rotates JHalc hooks the neck of his opponent with his legs and turns it into a hurricanrana.

Dennis:
JHalc still showing signs of life!

Drake basically bounces off the mat unaffected and gets back to his feet before Jay can. He reaches out towards his adversary but JHalc looks up and hits him with a thumb to the eye. JHalc turns around and runs for the ropes, rebounding and coming back with a clothesline that sends Drake down hard. Jay looks down and the two lock eyes for a second. JHalc immediately runs back to the ropes and Drake gets up to his feet just in time to run into a second clothesline that puts his down harder than the first. Instead of running for a third, The Jack of Hearts reaches down and helps the bigger man up before kicking him the stomach and doubling him over. JHalc pulls him into a powerbomb clutch and lifts him up into the air, with the crowd popping, thinking that the RJB is coming even though JHalc swore never to use it again. It matters little though, because as Jay lifts him, Drake wiggles free and lands back to back with his opponent. Shades of earlier in the match, Drake reaches over his shoulder to hook the neck, but Jay elbows him in the back of the head, and they separate. The two of them both spin on instinct alone, wanting to keep their eyes on each other. However, Drake is the one to make the mistake of moving without thinking. He steps forward hastily and runs into the side effect from the former world champion.

Dennis:
That could be it!

Michaels:
Is there an echo in here?

1!

2!

Kickout at 2.5!

Cedar:
This is turning into an all out war between these two!

Jay rolls away from the pin, all the way to the edge of the ring and to the apron. Drake rolls onto his stomach and starts to force himself up. Jay sizes him up from the apron, itching to pull off whatever he has planned. He starts to pace back and forth on the apron, begging Drake to get up. The IC champion starts to rise to his feet. The official moves to the ropes near JHalc and starts to tell him to come inside or risk being counted out. Jay barely hears him address him though. His focus is on his prey in the ring. Dysfunction turns on his heel to face him and Jay leaps into action. He springboards for the big elbow smash, propelling himself over the referee as he comes into the ring, but he has allowed his opponent too much time to get his bearings. Drake sees it coming and leaps backwards, dropkicking JHalc out of the air and drawing insane amounts of applause from the crowd. Jay crashes hard on the mat and rolls back out of the ring to the apron where he started his leap of faith. Drake takes a second to get up, and now can't possibly suppress the smile that comes across his face. He reaches over the top rope and grabs Jay by the hair and pulls him up to his feet on the apron. JHalc is still gasping, trying to find his breath, but all he finds is a right hand connecting with his cheekbone. Drake lets him go, expecting the smaller man to fall off to the floor but Jay hangs on to the top rope, trying not to fall to the outside.

Cedar:
Drake Dysfunction has total control of this match-up. JHalc is on his last leg.

Drake, knowing that Jay isn't going to fall, reaches out and grabs him around the neck again, hooking him up in a front facelock and throwing Jay's arm behind his head. Drake lifts with all the energy he can muster for the suplex but Jay lets his feet hook the bottom rope, stopping the momentum. Drake pulls back with all his strength again, but this time Jay pulls free, causing his opponent to fall backwards. Without hesitation, Jay pulls back on the ropes and then surges forward sling-shotting himself and hitting a big elbow smash that knocks Drake away from the ropes. With enough space between them to do damage, Jay springs off and hits the springboard elbow this time before diving into the cover.

Dennis:
Is it enough?

Shoulder Up before 3!

Jay thinks to argue but thinks better of wasting the time. He picks Drake up and whips him in the corner. JHalc rushes in but Drake falls down to the mat, leaving Jay nowhere to go but face first into the top turnbuckle pad. Drake shuffles to his feet and gets up just in time to catch JHalc with the Dysfunction kick as he turns away from the corner. Drake pulls himself over for the cover.

Cedar:
What a shot!

Jay drapes his leg over the bottom rope!

Dennis:
Saved by the ropes!

Drake gets up, unhappy with the referee. Jay takes a second to compose himself and is trying to pull himself up on the middle rope when Drake cuts him off with a stiff punch to the temple. Scoops him up and takes him up onto his shoulder for the Dysfunctional Disaster but Jay squirms loose and falls behind him. They turn towards each other and square off with Jay getting the better of the exchange and hitting the stalling front suplex. Jay goes to the corner exhausted and looks out to the commentary table. He stomps his foot on the mat with a smile on his face.

Michaels:
Excuse me gentlemen, I have some business to attend to.

The referee would have been distracted by Michaels rising from the announce table but Nova comes sprinting out from the back and runs down to the ring, hopping up on the apron. While Jay seems focused on the action with the referee Drake surprises Jay and takes him up onto his shoulders but David Michaels is sliding into the ring and cuts him in half with a kick to the gut. JHalc drops down behind him and turns him around. The referee is still arguing with Nova to get off the apron while JHalc puts Drake up in powerbomb position and then brings him down with Michaels leaping up into the air and putting his knees into the back of Drake. David slides out of the ring, Nova hops off the apron. JHalc drops to the mat, with the referee turning around just to see the two men laid out. Jay fakes crawling over to Drake and drapes his arm over him.

DING DING DING!!!!

Watts:
"Here is your winner...The Jack of Hearts.... JHALLLLLC!!!!!"

Dennis:
I don't know what that was that we just saw....

Cedar:
I'll tell you what we saw. We just saw the IC champion get screwed by D-Volution!

David Michaels takes a step over to the announce table.

Michaels:
Screwed. You just saw Drake Dysfunction learn his place. You just saw The Devolver. The first of many!

David turns around to the ring and slides in. Nova is already in the center of the ring helping JHalc to his feet and the referee moves to raise his hand in victory before getting cut off by David Michaels. The smallest man in the ring is shoved harshly out of the way and David takes his place next to JHalc, grabbing his partners arm and raising it into the air in victory. At the same time, Nova raises JHalc's other hand. As the three celebrate, the feed cuts to another commercial break.
