| SI.com interviewed TNA star Jeff Hardy this week. He talked about Slammiversary, his career nearing its end, and wanting to top Shane McMahon’s performance at WrestleMania 32. Below are some highlights.
Hardy on planning a WrestleMania performance for Slammiversary: “This Sunday at Slammiversary, you’re going to see me put in a WrestleMania performance. So what if it’s in front of 2,500 people instead of 100,000? I don’t care. It’s all about the moment. That camera is going to be on, and it’s going to become a professional wrestling memory. That’s really important to me–creating moments that last forever.”
On being near the end of his career: “I know I’m getting close to the end. I can feel my body telling me something. I don’t know how much longer I’ve got, and naturally I would love to end with a WrestleMania and I would love to have a Hell in a Cell. That’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’ve always wanted to headline ‘Mania.”
His epiphany watching Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32: “Watching Shane, I knew I could top that. Every time I watched Shane, I was inspired to do something better.”
On his feud with Matt Hardy: “As far as storytelling and psychology, I think I’m at my best. Matt’s older (41), and he’s better than he’s ever been. It’s just like writing a good song–you’ve got to tell a good story in a match. Brother feuds are cool. Matt and I grew up watching Owen Hart wrestle Bret Hart at WrestleMania, and we wanted to do that–and we got to wrestle at WrestleMania. In real life, Matt is more arrogant and I’m more modest, and that’s what makes us a good team.” |

Man Jeff is really setting the bar low. Also 2,500 people? They'll be lucky to get 250. ____________________ |

| When it comes to taking dumb risk Shane and Jeff have always been the top tier guys. Well dumb risk outside of CZW which all its death matches are dumb risk. So idk what you mean by setting the bar low |

| Well the match was terrible. Outside Shane's jump it's best to just forget about it. ____________________ |

| Jeff could've headlined Wrestlemania if he wasn't a headless junkie bastard. He had the push, and he screwed it - this coming from a huge Jeff Hardy fan.
Would I like to see him returning to WWE? I'd love to. Will he headline a WM? I highly doubt it, unless it's a Seth Rollins vs Reigns vs Lesnar vs Hardy fatal 4 way. |

| There's no reason Jeff should be headlining any WWE event. ____________________ |

| if it was 08-2010 he should, but its 2016. Hardy is a lot older, body a lot more damaged. |

| ^let's not forget Victory Road 2011. I think no promotion - other than TNA - would ever risk giving him a main event spot after this fiasco. Even though he did change and eventually had better matches and behaviour after that but... it's still a risk. |

| TNA was probably hoping people would tune in to see if he was still a mess. ____________________ |
