According to F4WOnline.com, there has been backstage talk in WWE of having Sheamus return as a heel once he is back from injury. As far as his return is concerned, the tentative time frame looks to be around the time of the Royal Rumble PPV.

WWE made him a piss poor babyface. He's a lot more fun to watch as a heel anyway.

I liked him as a face. No one else did though, so he is better off as a heel.

People don't like faces being cookie cutter faces that "stand up for good!" and "Fight for what's right!" but then hate it when they deal with things in a "bully" manner? What?

Sheamus was a good-good guy. His last heel run ended with that thankfully-short feud he had with Triple H...yeah, they'd better make it a lot better.

Everyone who thinks Sheamus is a bully is an idiot. I guess all faces just have to sit back and accept the fact they have to get beat down without getting any momentum otherwise they're looked at as a "bully".

Apparently Brogue Kicking Damien Sandow for no reason in multiple segments doesn't count as being a bully.

Fact is, there's bad guys and good guys. You either have the good guys that beat up the bad guys for being bad guys, or you have the good guys that fight for "JUSTICE AND LOVE!" which apparently you all hate. Don't come up with all that bull.

Punk is a bully too, but his character is at least a bully when he's angry. He doesn't just go around beating up people for no reason. He does it cuz he's pissed off. Sheamus is just like "Hey, should I kick this guy? I'm gonna kick this guy."

Usually because they're "bad guys" and "deserve it." He doesn't go around pushing people and shit, he does it when he's feuding with someone, who probably attacked him to begin with.

Punk's a bully, Ryback's a bully, Heyman's a bully, Axel's a bully. They're all bullies.

They're pro wrestlers. They're only bullies when they pick on non-wrestling talent, like announcers or interviewers. Wrestlers can (theoretically) defend themselves, it's a competitive sport.

That being said, I liked Sheamus' run at the top on SmackDown, but his feud with Del Rio got stale and he never really was engaging after that. If they bring him back in the Rumble he's almost certainly getting a face pop, though they could do something else with him to get him heel heat. Either way, the time off should rekindle some interest in his character.

He'll probably get the usual insane crowd pop as a face for the Rumble, but when the next RAW gets going, he'll either attack a face guy or he'll cut a heel promo.
He was a nice heel back then, so I suppose he'll still be a nice heel after he returns.

Knowing how he is on the mic sometimes, he'll attack someone. Say, Daniel Bryan? OR....he could come back as a "Paul Heyman Guy".

Too many Paul Heyman guys now (Punk just finished, Lesnar's still prowling around, Axel's there and so is Ryback), but I can see him calling someone out.

If I recall, Sandow was talking shit to the fans during that segment...Sheamus just went out there to shut him up.
