The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting former World Wrestling All-Stars promoter Andrew McManus was one of five men arrested in Australia at Melbourne Airport as part of a drug syndicate sting operation.
McManus, 54, was arrested and charged with attempting to “perverting the course of justice, attempting to defraud by false of misleading statements and knowingling participating in a criminal group to assist crime.” He founded WWA in 2001 and organized tours of Europe and Australia featuring several former WCW stars (that didn’t sign with WWE) such as Sting and Lex Luger. McManus is also a well-known music promoter in the country, helping promote acts like ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, and the upcoming KISS tour, scheduled to start next month.
