An aerial shot of the US Bank Arena comes up as we return from a lengthy commercial break, the most recent host of the Major League Baseball All-Star game looming just behind it. The camera pans out, unveiling a sprawling downtown area and a series of bridges stretched across the majestic Ohio river toward the Bluegrass state. As the camera finishes zooming out, we find ourselves upon a balcony high above the Queen City. On the left hand side of the screen, a leg clad in black denim and a boot can be seen, only just enough evidence that someone is present without a hint as to whom.

"It was many years ago in a place now relegated to only the most astute of memories.. that I lorded over one of the most successful federations of the time. They were a rightful juggernaut, but they held no monopoly. Competition nipped at their heels fervently, but they did not fear so long as they kept the likes of me in their ranks. The sort of men who could fill seats and keep the people shilling out their hard earned dollars. They practically threw money at me at every turn, just doing whatever they hoped would keep those other feds out of my sights. I grew up in a place where even the most unreliable, derelict vehicle was a luxury item.. in a time when orphanages were so packed with the unwanted and abandoned that they tied children to their beds to keep them from getting into anything that could harm them. I'd no idea what to do with that much money.. so I bought a high-rise condo here in Cincinnati, Ohio, where the woman I was dating was from. I went and bought myself a car far beyond what anyone in my hometown could ever fathom: a sleek, black Lamborghini. I tried the best money had to offer and took all of it in... and it made me sick."

"I look down over the city and I see all the grandiosity and riches and it disgusts me. Lawyers feasting on the wallets of the people as they scour every nook and cranny of the books for a means to circumvent or bend the law to their whims.. politicians lending ear and doctrine to the highest bidders... police ruining the lives of men and women on the grounds of petty statutes put in place by men well out of their scope. I look down upon all this silver and gold and copper and see nothing but greed... men so consumed by a lust for precious shiny objects that they scramble about mindlessly in it's pursuit, standing upon one another's necks and shoulders to grab at it. I look down on their rat race for all of this worthless shit that they deem valuable without rhyme or reason.. on this abattoir of retards clamoring for the latest trends and gadgets for no further reason than the popularity they fabricated... and I am reminded of you, XWA.."

"Men fighting for their chance in the limelight, struggling in the name of a higher billing, sacrificing everything for useless straps adorned with gaudy trinkets. Men like Dante Cross or Mark Storey or Danny Diamond or Razor Xtreme... the special breed of fools that validate their sense of self worth with metal buckles as cartoonishly oversized as their egos."

A long exhale follows, light tendrils of smoke creeping in from above the frame.

"I watch as man after man scrambles for the peak of the mountain, clawing at every inch of purchase they can muster... all the while forgetting what awaits them at the top.."

Next to the leg, an arm swings down, white knuckles wrapped around the girth of a battered, chipped and blood-stained length of tapered hickory.

This was interesting. Very well written dialogue with a unique vocabulary. Plus, Danny got a mention, which is awesome. The fact that he was grouped with Dante is not quite awesome, but y'know.

This seems like a debut, rather than a return. I assume Greg is posting this for someone else, to keep their identity quiet, so I expect it to be a big name from another fed transitioning to XWA. My guesses would be (based on them recently joining XWA): Eddie or Darc. But, according to their profiles, they haven't been on XWA since June, so ... I don't fucking know. >_> Whoever it is, whether it's someone I know or not, I'm excited, as they seem to be pretty damn good at promos and we can always use more fedders.

I'm with Justin on this one. Definitely someone making a transition, but I'm not sure who. Very interesting!
