WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Austin responded during a recent episode of his podcast to the recent comments of UFC President Dana White after he called wrestling “fake” on Twitter. Down below is what Austin had to say:

“I know Dana [White] is from the world of boxing and MMA, but I know he respects the world of professional wrestling. I thought that was his way of saying, ‘It’s a work’ because there’s a difference. Is it fake? It’s predetermined. It’s a work! So I don’t think [White] meant any disrespect to the business because I’ll say this, Daniel [Cormier]: I’ll take you, I’ll take Jon Jones, I’ll take the heavyweight champion of the world, I’ll take the bantamweight champion of the world, I’ll take any of you guys who want to go on the road for two years and be on the road for 250 days and go through that grind and you’ll never say ‘fake’, but what you will say, ‘It’s tough as hell!’ Fake, Dana? Not so much. A work? Yes, and I’m not saying that to put Dana on blast because I love him, I love the UFC, and he has always treated me well and always got me tickets when I got to see you fight in [Las] Vegas, so he’s always taken care of me but I think he does respect the business, and, hell, one of his biggest draws [Brock Lesnar] came from the world of pro wrestling.“

I don't think he meant well when he said it was fake in a response to someone saying their prices were better than his.

There was definitely shitty intent behind what Dana said, there is no two ways about it. He was being a jackass who thinks his shit don't stink because the UFC is hot right now. But wait until the MMA hits it's first cold streak and see if he's still running his mouth.

I would defend calling wrestling fake before defending Dana White's intent when calling it fake. Calling wrestling fake isn't the right word but it's not a big deal IMO. The way Dana White said it was to put it down, though.

Exactly. Intention is everything.

Of course he's going to put it down because he was competing with them in the PPV market. Also to what Burdur said i wouldnt even defend calling it fake because again at the end of the day it is. We all know it is. If this were someone like Mark Madden (who worked in the business and to this day still calls it fake) id have a problem with it.

You don't call something "fake shit" and mean it in a positive way. Austin is talking nonsense there <_<

And everyone knows it's scripted, but fake sounds like a derogatory descriptive. Nobody goes around calling films or TV shows fake, and they are also scripted. Why people can't grasp that baffles me <_<

I don't think Dana realizes or cares how much UFC got ideas from Pro Wrestling. I bet he wouldn't even know about The WWF Martial Arts Championship or UWFi. He came from boxing and wasn't in UFC when it started.

Didn't the same night he said wrestling is fake shit, someone in UFC came out in a Luchador mask?
