Brie Larson (Trainwreck) is in talks to star opposite Tom Hiddleston as the female lead in Kong: Skull Island. Meanwhile, Russell Crowe is reportedly being courted for one of the leading male roles in the film.
According to Deadline, Crowe is being considered for one of the roles left vacant by the departures of Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons from the film. Crowe has not yet agreed to a deal, and is reportedly waiting for the next draft of the script to come in.

Before exiting the film, Simmons revealed at least part of Kong: Skull island will take place in 1970s Detroit.
Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and written by John Gatins and Max Borenstein, the King Kong origin story is expected to begin production late this year or early next year. The film is set to hit theaters March 10, 2017.
