Vince Russo has a new blog on CSRWrestling.com. He takes aim at Seth Rollins for some comments the WWE World Heavyweight Champion made in a recent interview. Here’s part of the blog:

” In the ring, we move so fast. We take so many more bumps than those guys did, and we do so much more high-risk stuff. We’re athletes now. We’re not cartoon characters.”

I can’t even imagine the backlash, or ramifications there would have been if Vince Russo had made that asinine comment as it pertains to wrestlers “then” and wrestlers “now”. What would my punishment have been? How many people in the wrestling industry would I have had heat with? I just found out two days ago that I still have 1999 heat with Jim Duggan, because I put him in a storyline where my character appointed him the WCW janitor in order to tarnish his good name–however, as I just stated—that was aSTORYLINE. In REAL LIFE Seth Rollins just discredited anyone who ever laced up a pair of boots by saying that they weren’t athletes—and that’s OK?!!!

And, it’s simple why Seth’s comment were accepted and not totally ripped to Kingdom Come—because that’s what the Internet Wrestling wants from wrestling today–“high-risk guys” and not “cartoon characters”–, and since they are the smallest minority with the loudest voice controlling the wrestling business these days—they are going to celebrate Seth’s “brave” statement. Meanwhile, if those who were SUPPOSED to be controlling the wrestling business today were actually doing their jobs, they would be going out and hunting down the 5 million casual fans who NO LONGER watch professional wrestling, who would tell them what THEY WANT is VERY different.

Well what Seth said is true. But the reason is WWE would hate guys like Dusys Rhoads today. Having the look is more important than it ever has before.

Of course this is Russo just trying to get more attention and to get people to pay for his dumbass ramblings.

what the fuck am I supposed to get? To be fair, when you state "he was fat", it makes it sound like you don't like him

Also maybe a character like what Dusty had, most likely wouldn't get over today. However if a guy could cut deep passionate promos and had a Intimate Connection with the fans like Dusty could, WWE be foolish to turn away from a guy like that.

And that is one of the key things missing in wwe among a lot of the wrestlers...apart from having actual characters, storylines and a direction. Is having an intimate connection with the fans. Putting on 5 star matches will only get you so far in the wwe. And its these key things that are missing and is what is driving the casual fans away who make up most of WWE's actual fanbase.

I remember reading this interview someone had with Rockstar spud...and he told this guy he doesn't worry about having 5 star matches each and every week...his goal each week is to have a connection with the fans...both him and EC3...and that was a 5 star statement and its stuff like that is why I believe EC3 is the best heel in wrestling right now.

and you know who WWE's best all around wrestler right now is...both in ring, on the mic, and able to have that connection with the fans...is John Cena...the wrestler of the year and has so many matches of the year matches is John Cena.
