There's a new report on that rumored standalone Batman film, with the latest chatter on it claiming that the newest Caped Crusader himself, Ben Affleck, will be directing in addition to starring.
Latino Review reports that Affleck is attached to direct and star in the movie, which is said to be called The Batman, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's Chris Terrio penning the script. The film is likely targeting a 2018 release date according to the site.
Affleck has directed several films in the past, including the 2012 Best Picture winner Argo. That film's Oscar-winning adapted screenplay was written by the same Chris Terrio. The scribe is also reportedly working on the Justice League screenplay for Warners.
Still, for now we must regard this chatter about The Batman movie as a rumor that has not yet been confirmed by DC or Warner Bros.
Or course Affleck will play the Dark Knight in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens on March 25, 2016.
