Ryan Reynolds' latest film The Captive was met with boos at its Cannes Film Festival premiere, it has been reported.
The actor plays a grieving father searching for his missing daughter eight years after her kidnapping, and was co-written and directed by the Oscar-nominated Atom Egoyan.
Rosario Dawson and Kevin Durand also star in the film, due for release later this year.
According to Us Weekly, audience members booed at the end of the movie after its premiere on Friday (May 16).
Sources say Reynolds skipped the movie's after-party following the screening, opting instead for a "low-key late-night snack," with wife Blake Lively.
Meanwhile, Reynolds recently signed on to join Helen Mirren in Woman In Gold.
