M5) James Best vs. Mark Storey Empty
PostSubject: Re: M5) James Best vs. Mark Storey   M5) James Best vs. Mark Storey EmptyTue Jul 07, 2015 6:48 pm

The voice of Motley Crue’s Vince Neil fills the arena as “If I Die Tomorrow” plays introducing only one man, James Best. Standing on the Summer Sanitarium stage with his back towards the crowd as per usual, he turns around to the camera in a rolling elbow spin, followed closely behind by Chocolate and the “Book of James”. He reaches mid-way down the ramp before his entrance deviates from its normal course. Instead of breaking into a dash, he is startled by a scream let out my Chocolate. The camera fumbles slightly to catch the action as the newly resigned Mark Storey slaps the book from Chocolate’s hands, causing the yell and immediately lunges at James before the Australian can even know what has happened, clobbering him with a huge forearm, causing him to fall over and tumble down the remainder of the steel ramp! Best’s music abruptly stops as Mark makes his way over to the fallen star and stomps on him, forcing him against the steel barricade! Despite this sneak attack, Mark starts to garner cheers due to the sheer hatred of James from the XWA crowd. Screaming, Chocolate waves her hands around before crouching to retrieve the sacred “Book of James”, just as she reaches it though, Mark’s boot is placed firmly atop. Stumbling backwards out of Mark’s way, Chocolate is no help to the book as it is picked up by Mark and swung up into the air and then down onto the back of a crawling James! The PPV crowd go wild as Mark opens the book, turning to whatever page pleases him and rips a handful out, throwing them up into the air and towards the crowd before flinging the entire book into the ravaging pit of eBay seller’s.

TED CEDAR:“What an impact Mark has made already! This match hasn’t even begun!”

DAVID MICHAELS: “That is true Ted, I run into Mark backstage earlier today and we exchanged some words. He hasn’t had the biggest showing here in XWA, the height of his career here was being Lionheart Champion, and he recognises his past failures. On the same token, you have to give the guy credit where it’s due, he is a phenomenal competitor outside of this company.”

TED CEDAR: “You’re one hundred percent right David, Mark is looking to make an impact here in XWA again, maybe this time he’s fixed whatever held him back previously. He certainly seems to be in the right mind-set, and it looks like this match may happen after all!”

The reasoning for Ted saying that was the fact that Mark had pulled James to his feet and thrown him up onto the apron. James rolls towards the centre of the ring as Mark enters shortly after. The referee begins to check on James as Storey approaches. Mark grabs the back of James’ t-shirt and pulls it from him, tossing it to the side and yelling at the referee to start the match. Checking on James, the referee is given the go ahead as Best, angered, gets to one knee with his right hand placed on his back referencing the attack with the book. “SACRILEGE!” yells James as he rushes towards Mark, tackling him to the mat simultaneously with the bell ringing three times! With the match officially started, James Best is on top, literally as He straddles Mark and lays a few right hand jabs to Mark’s face and neck area. Blocking, Mark forces James to switch his attack as James stands slightly, grabs Mark by both sides of his neck and then forces him back down into the mat. No longer able to block, Mark leaves his face open to receive a huge elbow to the left side of his face. Slightly dazed, Mark is then pulled to a stance by James, who is just slightly taller and slightly heavier. Without breaking his hold on Mark, James then plants in multiple knee lifts to Mark’s chest and upper body area, keeping the former XWA Lionheart Champion doubled over. Hooking Mark’s arm over his neck, Best then hauls his opponent up and over his head and connects with a huge Northern Lights Suplex and bridging pin! ONE! TW-NO!

TED CEDAR: “Despite Mark’s attack from behind, he seems to have lost his upper hand from the moment the match begun.”

DAVID MICHAELS: “Maybe he just can’t get the job down under the XWA lights and in the XWA ring.”

Kicking out of the suplex and pin attempt, Mark saves himself in his returning match as he stands to face James Best almost immediately, with the two locking up. Nailing another knee lift, “The Narcissist” takes advantage once again and pushes Mark away from him, causing Mark to run towards the ropes and rebound back. Dropping to the mat, James forces Mark to jump over him and rebound on the opposite ropes. As Mark returns again, “The Natural” narrowly avoids a dropkick attempt and then makes a run to the ropes to his right, building up momentum as his dashes towards a newly standing Best after rebounding. With his arm extended, Mark crashes it against Best’s chest, but instead of forcing Best down with his weight, Mark swings around to Best’s back tucking his knees and placing them into James’ back, Mark then falls backwards bringing his opponent with him and hitting a lungblower! Amidst all the misdirection, it was James who had the misfortune of receiving Mark’s new signature move, Misdirected Misfortune. “The Destined Deity” then clambers over Best’s body with a pin attempt! ONE TWO! T-NO! Best is able to force his shoulder up, breaking the pin. “The Big Guy Outback” forces Mark off of him and stands, followed immediately by Mark who this time receives a dropkick for his efforts. No regular dropkick however, this was a single leg dropkick, Best’s Dropkick Named Desire. Mark falls flat on his back on the mat before feeling 240 pounds of James Best leaning against his torso, his leg hooked in the air. ONE! TWO! TH-NO! Mark breaks free from his heavier opponent and rolls towards the ropes, leaving Best to sit up and slap the mat.

TED CEDAR: “Some frustration from Best there. Perhaps he thought the match was over?”

DAVID MICHAELS: “Best may be under-estimating Mark. Perhaps Mark has a reputation here, but Best’s isn’t that much better. At least Mark has held one of XWA’s titles, no matter how briefly.”

The crowd let out a cheer for the arrogant Mark, the lesser of two evils, at least in their eyes, as he breaks free and rolls to the ropes. The Belfast-born superstar stands on the ring apron and has little time to react to the oncoming James Best. Mark flails out with a punch and luckily connects with James’ head, causing James to fall to one knee. Mark then pulls back on the top rope and jumps up into the air. Before we can see what he had in mind, James smashes Mark in the chest with a massive elbow making Mark lose balance and falls hard onto the steel apron! Mark hits the steel hard and almost falls off of the apron, his hand keeping him in place as he kept a hold of the rope. “Jimbo” grabs Mark’s hand before he can let go and pulls Mark up and his torso in through the middle and top rope. Placing his arm over Mark’s head and neck, James forces Storey’s legs up onto the rope, suspending him on them, a very similar position Mark has put many of his opponents in. However, before Mark can react and escape the manoeuvre he knows so well, James spikes Mark’s head down onto the mat with a huge DDT, connecting with his grapple, Welcome To Non-Fiction. Mark lays with his face against the canvas and legs still hooked on the ropes, unable to counter as James literally wasted no time in spiking his head into the mat. Instead of pinning, Best butterflies Mark’s arms and flips over, pulling Mark’s head and arm up, locking in the Write Off, his version of the Horns of Aries! Immediately Mark begins to yell out and squirm.

TED CEDAR: “What an innovative manoeuvre! I don’t think Mark was prepared for that.”

DAVID MICHAELS: “A shocking and painful move indeed, however, Mark’s feet are still dangling on the ropes, James won’t be able to hold this for long.”

“C’MON BABY!” shouts Chocolate, who garners the referee’s attention for a second, enough to lift up the apron and pull out a steel chair. Best’s wife then slides the chair into the ring, much to the disapproval of the XWA official! The referee scolds Chocolate as he bends over to pick up the chair. It’s at that moment that Chocolate runs to Mark’s feet and pushes them off the ropes and into the ring. Mark lets out an almighty yell as James cranks hard with his submission before the referee returns to the action, having handed the steel chair out of the ring. With his feet now off of the ropes, Mark has no simple way of escaping the hold. The referee crouches to ask Mark of he quits, receiving a yell mixed with a “NO” from “The Idol”. Mark takes his left arm, which is forced upwards into the air, and begins to drives it downwards with as much force as he can muster into Best’s stomach and side. After a few stingers Best can be seen flinching with every hit. Trying to wrench as hard as he can, Best pulls and pulls on Mark’s head and neck area before being made to let go after one last hard elbow. Grabbing the back of his neck, Mark starts to move backwards, and eventually stand on the outside of the ring, his body and face leaning on the ring apron. Angered, James shakes his head before using the ropes to get to a stance once more. “The Southern Cross Boss” then walks to the opposite end of the ring to Mark and exits onto the apron. The Australian then runs towards Mark and executes a hard kick, right to the steel ring post! “The Imperator of Innovation” had stepped back, avoiding the oncoming attack, causing James to smash the top of his right foot hard onto the steel post. He pulls his foot upwards so he can hold it in pain, leaving him susceptible to a chop block from Mark, forcing him off of his feet landing back-first onto the unforgiving steel ring apron!

DAVID MICHAELS: “All it takes is one mistake, this could be Mark’s opening, but has that submission after the ingenious distraction by Chocolate weakened Mark?”

TED CEDAR: “Mark has enough time to recuperate here, but that in itself is a double-edged sword as it provides Best with some recuperation time too.”

Recuperation time, yes, but Best also has to deal with falling from the ring apron and crashing to the lightly padded floor below! With the referee starting his ring out count with an almighty “ONE!”, Storey places a hard boot on James’ back. Chocolate begins to scream, getting closer and closer to the action before eventually diving atop of his husband to protect him. Pissed, Mark looks out to the crowd and holds his hand towards Chocolate, “THIS BITCH!” yells Storey in disbelief, before grabbing her by her arm and shoulder and pulling her away from James, causing her to stumble and fall over. She grabs her ankle in pain as the crowd relish in her getting some comeuppance, regardless of gender, before turning their attention back to Mark who has James standing once more to receive a hard knife-edge chop, beckoning the crowd to shout “WOOOOO!” and the referee to shout “FOOUURR!”. Mark drives his knee into James’ gut before throwing him back into the ring. Wasting little time, Mark dives under the rope and immediately runs towards to opposite ropes. Rebounding, “The Natural” returns to Best on all fours and boots him in the face! The punt kick, an old move for Mark, sends Best over and onto his back, as Mark climbs over him for the pin! ONE! TWO! ROPEBREAK! The referee stops the count after noticing Best’s foot draped over the bottom rope. Annoyed, Mark punches the canvas then stands up. As he gets to his feet he brings Best with him via his head. This proves a mistake for Mark as Best counters out of it and pushes Mark with both his palms on Mark’s chest, sending him stepping backwards. He creates just enough room to allow a small run and a leg lariat!

TED CEDAR: “A leg lariat from out of nowhere!”

DAVID MICHAELS: “One of these two men need to lock this match down.”

The two men climb to a stance, with Mark instantly running towards Best with a clothesline. Ducked. Instead Best goes under Mark’s onslaught, causing Mark to pivot right into a superkick! Caught. Shaking his head violently and hopping on one leg, Best hopes for mercy, but Mark instead forces the caught leg down hard, causing Best to stagger as he looks for his footing, only to obtain a European Uppercut from Mark. Seemingly seeing stars, Best totters backwards and involuntarily bounces back-first off of the ropes and back towards Storey who locks him in a front chancery, pulls his legs up and around him and delivers a huge Cradle DDT! Degradation! Mark rolls his opponent over and hooks both legs. ONE! TWO! THRE-NO! Somehow, Best is able to stay in this match, kicking out in the nick of time. The crowd boo in unison as Mark kneels, unsure as to how Best was able to kick out. He stands again, and refuses to let Best lay there. “Dingo Dick” is pulled to his feet by Mark, who is immediately winded with a kick to the gut! James then wraps his arm around Mark’s head for his stunner finisher, Writers Block. Luckily for Mark, whoever wrote his fate, blocked this game-ender for him as he is able to break free and push James away. James turns and in a sudden change of situation, Mark connects with a massive superkick, Vagary, sending James down to the mat. Best rolls onto his hands and knees, perhaps to absorb some of the pain, which surprisingly does not anger Mark, but instead lights the proverbial light bulb in his head as he exits the ring ropes beside them.

DAVID MICHAELS: “What is he doing?! Go for the pin! Cover him!”

This may have been in Mark’s mind, but not yet. Instead, “The Initiator of Ingenuity” stands on the apron and looks towards him opponent. Then, in one big pull, Mark launches himself up onto the highest rope and then springboards from it, tucking his knees into towards his chest and falling, crashing down hard on Best’s back with a huge double stomp! Mark’s new manoeuvre, Descended Upon Thee! The crowd start to cheer as Mark emerges from the awkward landing and pushes Best over onto his back, hooking the leg as he does so. The referee dives to the mat to make the count, ONE! TWO! THREE! The official calls for the bell as the hard opening chords of “Dies Irae” performed by Epica fills the arena signifying Mark’s win in his returning match!

TED CEDAR: “Wow! Mark’s new finisher is definitely something! Perhaps he has overcome what was keeping him back after all?”

DAVID MICHAELS: “Perhaps he has, a win on your return match is needed, and a PPV win is even better. Mark is back tonight, and with that athleticism, I, for one, welcome him back.”

The camera focuses on Mark who exits the ring, holding one arm up and one arm around his neck before cutting to the next segment.
