Right, so someone posted about a deal for a few games for really cheap on here. Being the bargain hunter I am, I decided to get this deal. So I bought the games.

I'm now having trouble playing them. Well, one of them so far. It's called Dead Island. Whenever I try to play it, it freezes at first but then stops freezing. Once it's done freezing, I can hear it, but there's no video. Just a black screen. If I move my mouse around, I can hear different noises like I'm touching different menu icons or something in the game, but I can't see shit.

I'm about to try Sacred 2 Gold Edition, once it's finished downloading to see if I have the same problem.

In what may be related news, I had a copy of Diablo (the original one) not too long ago. It used to work fine on this exact computer but the last couple times I tried to play it, a few months back, the graphics would glitch. I would walk for like two seconds and then the graphics would get so bright that I couldn't see anything. If I minimized the game and then brought it back up, or went to the pause menu, the graphics would go back to normal, but only for a few seconds.

Anyone know what in the actual fuck is wrong with my laptop?

How much hard drive space does it have left?

128 GB. About 25%.

Open it up, while having Task Manager open to see if it's just using too many resources, from what I've seen that's caused a couple of problems for other people.

By that, do you mean go to Task Manager, then Performance and look at CPU Usage?

If so, that's at like 50%.

I just tried Risen 2: Dark Waters and that works without a problem.

Buy a gaming computer.

^ that or its possible the game is too powerful graphics wise for your laptop to handle.

I was referring more to the disk/memory areas, but if it's working with another game, then it's either a bad download, or your computer just can't handle the game.

Dead Island is a pretty graphics intensive game, so It might me because your hardware can't handle it. You should try Saints Row the Third, because if that works it probably means that the problem is only with the specific game.

I think it is, because I tried that Sacred 2 game and, aside from some occasional freezing, it worked to perfection.

Yeah, weird. Try Saints row the third or give me your specs and then I can tell you the problem for sure.

Try canyourunit (Google it, I can't remember the exact address). It tells you if your computer can...run it...obviously.

then you cant play it, lol. then again, that site told me i couldnt run Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed a while back and i managed to play it when it was free on Steam a few weekends ago.
