A perfect Michael Bay-like movie is better than a movie from a more respectable genre if the quality of said movie is lacking.

Transformers 4 earns a B on my "Bay-Scale"

Movies that do well on my Serious Superhero Scale?
Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Amazing Spiderman, Amazing Spiderman 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the Michael Keaton Batman movies.

That doesn't include animated movies.

A movie that does well on my non-serious superhero scale is Batman and Robin. I'd watch that a dozen times and have fun before I'd watch DKR, even though it's campy, dumbed down, and so tongue-in-cheek with it's cheesiness. At least it used it's cheesiness to its advantage and it's something that I could pop in and giggle at either alone or with some friends.

No, I'm saying SA2 is genuinely better than FF8.

FF13 is terrible compared to the rest of the series, but it's still better than Sonic Boom.
