XWA Vendetta returns from a commercial break, following the final match in the first round of the Intercontinental Championship tournament. Fans are abuzz, having enjoyed the show thus far.
Ted Cedar: "Welcome back to Tuesday Night Vendetta, ladies and gentlemen. We've had one hell of a night so far and up next is our huge main event."
David Michaels: "A Tornado Tag Team Tables match, pitting our general manager and Isaac against Razor Xtreme and his hired gun, Maddox Paine. It'll be chaotic, to say the least."
Ted Cedar: "That it will, David. Now, let's head to the ring for the official introd--"
"He who makes a beast out of himself gets rid of the paaain of bein' a maaan."
The audience had erupted in cheers about half-way through the opening line of Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country", the inhalation scream following it and, finally, Danny Diamond popping out onto the stage!
Ted Cedar: "What the hell?! Danny Diamond!"
David Michaels: "What the hell is right. Last time we saw this guy, he was possessed by the devil or some shit."
Danny stands on the stage, wearing black faded jeans, black sneakers, a pink "Diamonds Are Forever" v-neck t-shirt and pink sunglasses. He looks out at the massively cheering crowd with a grin on his face. The two-time XWA World Heavyweight Champion begins making his way to the ring.
Ted Cedar: "What my partner is referring to, ladies and gentlemen, is that the last time we saw Danny in an XWA ring, he was donning the mask of his split personality, Mirage. Mirage started the Church of Illusionism, his own religion, taking in such names as Mark Storey and Jenna Isaacs and renaming them. Shortly after, the three of them disappeared and we haven't seen or heard from them since."
David Michaels: "It's all pretty damn weird. But it's interesting to see Danny back in an XWA arena."
"The Prized Gem" walks up the steel steps and enters the ring through the ropes, before making his way over to the other side of the ring. He reaches his arm over the top rope and asks Laura Watts, politely, to hand him a microphone. She obliges and gives Danny a microphone, the Englishman thanking her and stepping into the center of the ring. "Bat Country" fades out. He goes to speak, but with the audience still very vocal, he takes a minute to let them cool down. "Dan-ny Dia-mond!" chants build up throughout the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, bringing out a chuckle from Diamond. He nods, agreeing with the general consensus. Once the fans finally quiet down, he begins speaking.
Danny Diamond: "It's been, what, four-five months now since you've seen this gorgeous face?"
The fans, most notably the women in the audience, cheer loudly. Danny chuckles lightly, again.
Danny Diamond: "It's been an interesting ride for me, ever since I began wrestling back in 2009. In fact, the six year anniversary of my debut in the wrestling industry is fast approaching, less than two months away. May twenty-ninth, two thousand and nine. I debuted for a company you guys might remember, 2WWF, at their annual Step Up Pay Per View. Since then, I've gone on to win countless championships and other accolades. Well, saying they're countless is a lie, as I have counted them. Sixty-four awards, twelve championships and two broken records. Not bad for six years in the business, I'd say. A lot of what I've done has been in 2WWF, but I've got my share of accolades in XWA as well. First ever UltraViolent Champion, won the World Television Championship in my second match and, of course, two-time World Heavyweight Champion. I remember when I first debuted with this company. 2WWF's doors were closing and I needed a new home. I heard about a company just two years old. The owner, Robert McDigg, didn't like us 2WWF kind. Why that was, I've never found out. But, regardless, we came. Myself, Ace Acid, Roach Cooper, Mark Storey and Minkaro. We came and we ... well, they didn't do much of anything. But I stayed. I stayed and I put in that work that makes me the best damn wrestler to ever grace a ring. Now, I could go on and on about my history here, or elsewhere, in the wrestling industry, but I don't want to bore you. I'm just here to do what I do best - wrestle."
More cheers from the audience, as Danny waits a little minute for them to quiet down again before continuing.
Danny Diamond: "My return to wrestling will come in a few weeks in my homeland of England, at XWA's second annual United Xtreme. It'll be a glorious return to form for me. I assume you all remember what happened at CyberSlam last year, yes? Danny Diamond versus Rob Chapman, Sixty Minute Hardcore Ironman match."
"Match of the year!" chants go off throughout the arena, as the audience does, very clearly, remember the match.
Danny Diamond: "Heh, so you do remember it. Well, that was, without a shadow of a doubt, me at my best ... so far. Me and Rob lit that fucking building in Toronto on fire that night. It truly was a testament to our ability as gladiators of the squared circle. There will be no more distractions for me. I'm back and I'm ready to take my place atop the throne again. No matter who I have to go through or what I have to do, I'm going to prove once again that I am, have always been and will always be the - definitive - best. Diamonds truly are forever."
Danny drops the microphone as "Bat Country" hits the PA System again and the fans applaud. He exits the ring and begins making his way up the ramp, after letting everyone know he's here again and ready to take his castle back.
Ted Cedar: "It seems Danny is set to make his in ring return at United Xtreme. I, personally, can't wait! I wonder who he'll face."
David Michaels: "Well, I'm sure there are going to be some wrestlers who take exception to him claiming to be the best. Hell, it's getting me all riled up."
The show cuts to a commercial break, the final one of the night.
