Justin Gabriel was recently a guest on Talk Is Jericho with Chris Jericho, and one of the things that came up was a gimmick idea that Gabriel, now billed as ‘PJ Black’, presented to WWE.
Gabriel said Michael Hayes asked him at one point for some new character ideas, and he came with the “Darewolf,” which Gabriel has been using (to an extent) on the independent scene. He said the character would be a combination of a warewolf and a daredevil, and he would film vignette doing some extreme sports and other daring activities. Gabriel said Vince McMahon liked the idea, but Triple H wasn’t a fan of it, and didn’t use it even after Gabriel asked to go NXT to work on it.
