Epic Pictures Releasing has locked an October 18, 2013 domestic release for Big Ass Spider!, the movie that features a giant arachnid terrorizing Los Angeles, Deadline first reported.
Mike Mendez’s creature comedy will go out simultaneously in theaters and on VOD.
Greg Grunberg, Claire Kramer, Lombardo Boyar and Ray Wise star.
“When a giant alien spider escapes from a military lab and rampages across the city of Los Angeles, it is up to one clever exterminator and his security guard sidekick to kill the creature before the city is destroyed.”
Epic Pictures and Wittgenstein Entertainment produced the pic that premiered at SXSW in March. Epic Pictures Releasing is the U.S. distribution arm of Epic Pictures Group which is also now acquiring third-party elevated genre for limited theatrical releases.
