According to ProWrestling.net, former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz is still working with WWE on somewhat of a consistent basis, and was backstage at the Royal Rumble PPV working in a consultant capacity.

Gewirtz was removed from his head writer position in late 2012, but continues to contribute to the creative direction of the company and spends about a day a month working in-person for WWE.

Gewirtz also returned to the road for WWE when The Rock made his return to the company for WrestleMania 28 and 29, as Gewirtz was primarily responsible for writing The Rock’s promos during that time. Gewirtz is said to always be present when The Rock appears on WWE TV.
