According to The Wrestling Observer, while morale in WWE was already low to begin with, Vince McMahon’s appearance on Steve Austin’s podcast was said to lower morale even further.

The backstage feeling is that Vince pretty much “crapped” on everyone in the locker room with the exception of The Shield members and Bray Wyatt. Vince came across as suggesting the aforementioned talents are the only WWE wrestlers with true star power potential.

Following the interview, Triple H reportedly gave the talent a speech to try and improve morale, however it’s being said the attempt backfired.

In general, the NXT talent love Triple H and respect what he’s done with the emerging brand, however Triple H’s comments made to the main roster reportedly lost him a lot of credibility and respect, especially amongst veteran names in WWE.
