GREG SAMUEL vs. PATRICK MOORE w/ ANDREW GREENBURG
World Championship Tournament Match-Revolutionary Wars 2013

Revolutionary Wars is upon and it’s time to celebrate the company that we all love! And what better way to celebrate the company than with some of the best wrestlers in the World facing off against one a another to begin the road to decide who will be declared the new World Heavyweight Champion! One Match pits the returning Greg Samuel against a man with a mean streak that is only getting meaner, Patrick Moore. As Samuel stated earlier in the night, he’s had multiple chances at the World Championship and has fallen short, and he vows not to this time. Moore on the other hand, is looking to make a name for himself by pulling a big win away from Samuel and earning 5 quick points in the World Championship tournament. If you look into the past of Revolutionary Wars, Greg is 0-2 at this event. In 2010, Samuel lost to CF Riley in a Pure Championship match. Then, fast-forward to 2012, Greg took on one Ace Andrews who took him down to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship. Tonight, Samuel looks to make it 1-2 at the event with a victory tonight, grabbing 5 points in the process. This match pits two hard noses in different corners, and setting them loose to determine who gets the five points. In his return promo earlier, Samuel stated that there was nothing that was going to make him stay down, and “The King of Hearts” has a lot of tricks up his sleeves, and with the help of Andrew Greenburg, he’s only getting more dangerous. These two men might make one great match of the night candidate, and it’s something that we get the fortune to see at Revolutionary War 2013!
Greg takes off his vest and hangs it on the ring post in his corner. The crowd begins chanting, “Let’s go Samuel!” as soon as his entrance music cuts, making it obvious who they want to see win this match. Greg looks out at the crowd in the Wells Fargo arena and smirks, then pointing out to them, acknowledging them. On the other side of the ring, Moore rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed with the Philly fans cheering his opposition. XWA referee Jack Hammer checks with both men to make sure they are ready and then calls for the bell. The timekeeper rings the bell three times, starting the World Championship tournament match.

TED CEDAR: “Alright, here we go, it’s Greg Samuel vs. Patrick Moore! Revolutionary Wars 2013.We have the man on the rise, Patrick Moore who hits hard, but not always above the belt. And then we have returning Greg Samuel, the man who claimed earlier in the night that he in walking away from Endure the World Champion.”

ADAM DENNIS:: “Samuel can say whatever he wants to say, he’s a loud mouth.”

TED CEDAR: “Don’t forget, Samuel claimed all out, that there was no way that Patrick Moore could beat him tonight, including any of his beloved tactics.”

ADAM DENNIS:: “There are two separate things in this equation, there is Greg’s fantasy, and then there is reality. In Greg’s fantasy, he’s invincible. In reality, come talk to me again once Moore locks you in the KoH and we’ll see how you feel!”

Both men step out of their corners and circle the ring a couple times before locking up in a time tested collar-and-elbow tie-up. A half of a foot height advantage and 50 pound weight advantage proves good for Samuel as he takes easy control with a wrist lock. The crowd is in support of “The Maine Attraction” as Moore grits his teeth in pain as his arm is getting wrenched on. The former Intercontinental Champion thrusts the point of his boot into the midriff of “The King of Hearts,” sending him down to a knee. “Ref! That was clearly an illegal wrist lock, do your job!” From the outside of the ring, Andrew Greenburg is flapping his jaws to try and get in the head of Greg Samuel. Greg glances over at him and pretends to blow snot out of one nostril at him before turning his attention back to Moore, who is a little hunched over after the boot, but back to his feet. Greg takes his smaller adversary into a front facelock and then grabs his tights and lifts him up into the air. Samuel has an easy time keeping him up in the Vertical Suplex position as he walks over towards the ropes. Greg then lets him fall forward, then bouncing Moore’s legs off the ropes snapping him over with a Rope Aided Suplex. Moore cringes and lets out a yelp of pain as he arches his back trying to relieve some of the pain from the hard impact with the canvas. Greg hooks a leg, looking to get an early pin, but before the ref can start the count, he realizes Greenburg is in the ring, and he has to fight to usher him out. Samuel gets back to his feet and goes to help the ref get Moore’s manager out of the ring, as he does so, “The King of Hearts” sneaks up behind him and rolls him up into a surprise pin attempt. Moore gets a two and a half count before Samuel is able to realize what is going on and kick Moore off of him. Greg is quick back to his feet, but is met by a knee to the stomach, doubling him over. Moore then swings his arm up then and slams it down on the back of Samuel, leaving a huge thud to ricochet throughout the arena. Greg bends backwards with his arms back as he stumbles into the ropes behind him. Moore takes him by the arm and then attempts to irish whip him across the ring, but Samuel reverses. The 5 foot 8 combatant shoots back at the returning Samuel and ducks as “The King of the Gannosuke Clutch” attempts to level him with a lariat. Moore uses the ropes this time to springboard. By the time Samuel has turned to face him, Moore is flying at Samuel upside-down, and at that point, Moore grabs the head of “The Maine Attraction” and pounds it into the mat with a Springboard Neckbreaker. Greg clutches the back of his neck, kicking the mat at the upper part of his spine tingles from the impact. Moore is quick to hook both legs, but Samuel is just as quick to kick out at the one count.

TED CEDAR: “I must give credit where credit it due. That was an impressive series there by Moore!”

ADAM DENNIS:: “That’s what I’ve been telling you all along, Patrick Moore is the next big thing in this company. The talent has always been there, now with the backing of Andrew Greenburg, this kid has a bright future ahead of him!”

With a slight sense of urgency, Moore is right back on the offense, kneeling over Greg, grabbing him by the back of the head and hammering him with fists to the forehead. The ref begins to count to five, and by the time he reaches five, he has to pull the vicious Moore off of Samuel, whose head is spinning after the attack. Jack Hammer backs “The King of Hearts” into a corner and warns him that he isn’t afraid to disqualify him if he continues on ignoring the official. Moore pushes his way passed the referee and back to Samuel, who’s on a knee after the attack. Patrick charges at the opposition before lifting his leg and leveling Samuel right back down with a knee to the face. If Samuel didn’t have a headache before, his head is guaranteed to be throbbing now. Greg holds his face, as if trying to keep it in one piece after that cannon shot like power with the knee. Looking to stay on the offensive, Moore slides out onto the ring apron, and then up to the top rope. Moore turns so he’s facing the crowd, and then jumps, doing a moonsault but before he can execute the move, Samuel gets his knees up, driving them into the ribs. Moore kicks around and gasps for air before rolling out of the ring, to his mentor, Andrew Greenburg. Greenburg checks on his well being, making sure he is okay and that his ribs are all where they belong. Samuel looks out at them while rolling his eyes, obviously annoyed with the two men. As the cameraman gets a shot of the two guys, Greenburgs words of wisdom can be heard. “And that’s why you have to take a final check on your opponent before you just, or else they are going to get you with that EVERY TIME.” Unbeknownst to either of those two men, in the ring, Samuel is darting off the far set of ropes and towards them. As he reaches the ropes, “The Maine Attraction” leaps up over the top rope to the outside, headed straight for the two men. Greenburg and Moore have nowhere to go but take the brunt of the impact off of this huge suicide dive by Greg. The crowd in the Wells Fargo Arena explodes as Samuel pulls off a move we rarely see from him. Meanwhile, in the ring, the ref begins a count.

TED CEDAR: “OH MY WORD! How often do we see a suicide dive by The Maine Attraction! If that doesn’t show you his will to win, and his willingness to put his own safety on the back burner to win the World Heavyweight Championship, than I don’t have a clue what will!”

ADAM DENNIS:: “If there were ever a time for me to give credit where credit was due, it’s right there. That was some beautiful athleticism by Greg Samuel!”

The former Intercontinental Champion gets back to his feet and pumps both his fists as the crowd is still roaring. Moore and Greenburg are still both lying in a heap on the outside of the ring. The ref’s count is at two as Samuel continues to embrace the crowd. The 5 foot 8 inch tall warrior begins to get his wits about him, remembering he’s in a wrestling match, and begins to try and get back to his feet. It isn’t long before Greg is assisting him back to a vertical base, only to take him by the back of the head and slam it right into the top of the barricade. Moore stumbles backwards as a Greg pounds the fists of everyone in the front row near where he just slammed Moore. The ref’s count reaches 5 before Samuel turns his attention back to Moore. The returning Samuel grabs Moore and slides him back into the ring, before doing so himself. Greg then hooks the leg, looking to earn himself 5 points in the tournament. A kickout at two disappoints Greg, but he carries on. Samuel gets back to a vertical base, and pumps up the crowd a little bit with slow claps that speed up as time goes on. “The King of Hearts” uses this time to recover a little, and sits up. Greg takes an arm of the sitting adversary and uses it to attempt to pull him back to his feet. Moore notices Jack Hammer is in no position to make a good call, and delivers a low blow to Samuel’s genitalia. Greg drops to the mat immediately, kicking and coughing in pain, feeling like he is going to throw up, a feeling that is all too familiar to any man. It’s obvious to everyone in the Wells Fargo arena that Moore cheated, and the fans are letting him feel the hate.

ADAM DENNIS:: “Boo him all you want, the man’s a genius, he capitalized, and you are all just angry because you aren’t anywhere near as smart as he is.”

TED CEDAR: “It doesn’t make it right Adam…”

ADAM DENNIS:: “He’s getting paid to win matches and I see nothing wrong with him doing anything to insure he does so…”

With watery eyes, it’s obvious that Samuel is feeling the pain of that cheap tactic. On the outside, Andrew Greenburg is on his knees, using the ring apron to keep himself up, but is still smirking and clapping, proud of the actions of his protégé. Moore somewhat groggily makes it back to a vertical base, and begins diabolically stomping on the limbs of his crowd-beloved opposition. The Philadelphia crowd is still booing Moore for his actions, which led to this point in the match. With every stomp to his appendages, Samuel flinches as his overall pain level continues to climb. After stomping on all four limbs two times over, Moore begins to focus more on the head and neck of his opposition. Moore grapples with the weight of Samuel to get him to a sitting position. From behind, “The King of Hearts” begins driving elbows into the neck of the returning wrestler. It’s obvious that he is thinking about his finisher KoH, and how it works even better on a weakened neck. Each blow feels like someone is trying to drive a blunt object into Samuel’s neck, and Samuel is quickly feeling the effects of the shots. Moore lets up after about a dozen shots and Samuel falls to his back. Moore tries to gain a pinfall victory, but finds himself unsuccessful at two and a half.

TED CEDAR: “Greg Samuel kicking out, showing his heart and determination to make good on his earlier statements.”

ADAM DENNIS:: “He kicked out so he didn’t lose a match, what’s the big deal?”

TED CEDAR: “You go in there and take a low blow, and then stomps, AND THEN those dozen neck shots and then kick out. Let alone everything else he’s taken before this sequence…”

ADAM DENNIS:: “No thank you!”

TED CEDAR: “That’s what I thought.”

After the unsuccessful pin attempt, Moore decides he’s going to get Samuel back to his feet, and work on him from there. The fatigue has obviously set in on Greg, as he is practically dead weight as Moore attempts to lift him to his feet. “The King of Hearts” is having as much success lifting Greg as he would an anvil, obviously a drawback to being the lighter competitor by 50 pounds. By the time Moore has struggled to get Samuel to his knees, “The King of The Gannosuke Clutch” has regain some wits about him, and drives an elbow into the already tender midriff of his smaller opposition. The crowd in the Wells Fargo Arena jumps up and begins to cheer their beloved Samuel as he attempts a comeback. The first elbow blast is followed by two more. Just as it would seem that Samuel is on his way to regaining the upper hand, Moore propels a knee into the body of the Kingfield resident, ending any momentum he had. Greg slumps over; his chest cavity feeling like it is about to collapse, as Moore raises his hands, much to the chagrin of the Philly crowd. Moore then grabs hold of the ropes and uses them to leverage himself into the air, and then drives a knee down onto the back of Samuel’s neck and head. Greg’s legs drop out from under him, as the knee forcefully slams into the back of his head and neck. For sure, “The Maine Attraction” is out cold. It takes a good deal of effort for Moore to get Samuel turned over onto his back, but he manages and then hooks the leg, looking for the 3 count that will earn him 5 points. Somehow, Samuel musters up the ability to kick out before Hammer’s hand hits the mat for a third time. Patrick Moore is in absolute disbelief at the fact that Samuel kicked out of that pin, after the beating he’s taken thus far. “Ref, could you count a little slower? I mean my grandma could’ve swam the Atlantic Ocean before that three count! Greenburg is on the outside running his mouth at the ref, something that the Wells Fargo Arena does not appreciate. On the inside of the ring, Moore tries to continue his advantage, grabbing the legs of Samuel, but before he can do anything with it, Samuel kicks him square in the chest, sending him back into the corner. “The King of Hearts” head whips back as he collides with the corner. Samuel, knowing this is his opportunity, knows he has to get some offense in or he’ll be screwed for the rest of the match, works his way back to a vertical base as quickly as his fatigued body will let him. The crowd in Philadelphia is cheering him on with a “Samuel, Samuel!” chant. Moore is determined to not let his adversary get back vertical and charges at the kneeling “King of the Gannosuke Pin.” Before Moore knows what is going on, Samuel takes his flailing arm and uses it to pull him down to the mat with a unique arm drag. Greenburg is memorized by the counter, and is for the first time in his life, speechless. Greg powers his way back to his feet, and Moore isn’t far behind him. Greg grabs a hold of the opposition’s arm and sends him emphatically towards the ropes, only to charge right toward the ropes with him. In confusion, Patrick turns around, only to be met with a decapitating spinning back fist. Moore falls to the mat and the thud on the mat is only exceeded by the thud of the back fist that he just received. The crowd even cringes a little bit after that hit. Greenburg’s eye grow wide, astonished at what he just saw.

TED CEDAR: “WHAT A BACKFIST! This boy has the heart of a champion, let me tell you that much Adam.”

ADAM DENNIS:: “He won’t stay down…I know that.”

Greg is panting heavily, obviously very fatigued, and who can blame him after what he’s been through. Despite the shot he just took, Moore somehow finds a way to battle back to a vertical base. “The Maine Attraction” charges at him, and drops him with a clothesline. Patrick is back to his feet as quickly as his battered body will allow, only to be sent back to the mat with another hard clothesline. Once again, he fights through the agony and is back to his feet, this time only to be picked up and dropped down on the knee of the former Intercontinental Champion with an Atomic Drop. “The King of Hearts” clutches his lower spine as it was all just compressed over the knee of the 6 foot 2 inch tall athlete that is Greg Samuel. With the voice of Andrew Greenburg barking to him to not give Samuel the advantage, Moore turns and charges at the XWA veteran, with an arm out and intended for the neck of Samuel. The savvy Samuel counters by grabbing the arm and hooking it behind his back, in one swift motion, Samuel sweeps the leg of Moore with his own leg, and rolls forward, locking him in the Gannosuke Clutch pinning technique that he has told us he mastered in his latest stint outside of the company. The technique gets him only a two count. Greg pushes through the pain and back to a vertical base, looking to stay on top of Moore. Greg grabs his adversary by the shoulders and works him back to a vertical base. Despite the fatigue causing gravity to have an amplified effect on Moore, Greg still has a pretty easy time getting him back up, due to the aforementioned weight advantage. Greg then lifts the smaller man up onto his shoulders. Looking out at the crowd, Greg smirks and then lifts Moore off his shoulders and lets him drop as he falls to his back and sticks his knees up, leaving “The King of Hearts” to fall down onto the knees. The gutbuster is highly effective as the innards of Moore are scrambled over Samuel’s knees. Pat kicks around, desperate to alleviate the pain in his abdomen. Greg stands back up and holds two fists up, to which the Philly crowd cheers. “Hey Samuel!” Greenburg says, trying to distract his protégé’s opposition. Samuel looks over at him. “Don’t mess up…like you did all your other World Championship shots!” The Wells Fargo arena explodes in boos as Greenburg disses “The Maine Attraction.” It’s obvious that this remark gets under the skins of Samuel, who decides to instead take it out on the protégé opposed to getting disqualified. Seeing his plan backfire, Greenburg changes direction, now reaching under the ring, causing many to wonder. Andrew then pulls out a steel chair and slides it into the ring. “Oh Hell No!” Jack Hammer quickly makes sure the chair doesn’t get used in this match, grabbing it and disposing of it on the outside of the ring. While he’s distracted, Moore has reached a vertical base and Samuel looks to keep the offense flowing. Patrick pushes Samuel away and quickly reaching in his tights and pulling something out and slipping it on his fingers. When Samuel charges back at him, Moore rears back and drives a punch through the jaw of Samuel. “The Maine Attraction” drops to the mat instantly, out cold. Moore takes off the object and it is identifiable as brass knuckles, and then he slyly throws them to Greenburg, without Hammer’s knowledge. He wipes his hands on one another, as if to say his work is done as the crowd boos him out of the Wells Fargo arena. Greenburg claps as Moore drops down and hooks a leg.

TED CEDAR: “HE CHEATED, JACK, CALL FOR THE BELL!”

ADAM DENNIS:: “You can count to a million and two, Night Night Samuel!”

Somehow, just before Hammer’s hand slams on the mat for the third time, Samuel’s able to power a shoulder up off of the mat. Ever single person in the arena is shocked, but none more so than Patrick Moore, and his face shows every bit of that astonishment. As soon as he kicks out Samuel seems to drop right back out. Moore struggles back to his feet, and looks down at Samuel, wondering what he is going to have to do to take out his adversary. Patrick sticks out his arm and drops an elbow down on the chest of Samuel. Greg’s limbs shoot up in the air as his chest takes the brunt of that impact. Moore than uses all his strength to pull the dead weight of Samuel into the middle of the ring and sit him up. He then proceeds to dish out another round of elbow shots to the neck. After the shots, Samuel falls back to the mat; feeling like his head is going to fall off his neck. “LOCK IT IN!! It’s obvious to everyone in the Wells Fargo Arena that Andrew Greenburg is talking about the KoH. Moore locks the arm and then locks in his finishing submission maneuver, the KoH. Greg is showing the most signs of life since the brass knuckles shot. He is kicking around and reaching with his free hand, trying to find an escape route from “The King of Hearts” signature move. Moore locks the move in as hard as he can, doing anything to get the tap out. Greg’s arm and neck are getting pulled in an unnatural way, feeling like they are going to be pulled right off the rest of his body. The Philly crowd is trying their absolutely hardest to will Greg back into the match. Samuel is about to pass out from the pain, but is still refusing to tap. “The Maine Attraction” is fading fast and Jack Hammer decides it’s time to check Samuel’s arm. Jack raises his arm once, and the very second he lets go, the former Intercontinental Champion’s appendage flops right back down to the mat. Hammer picks his arm up again, but yet again, it drops like a missile back down to the mat. Jack lifts Samuel’s arm one more time, and when he lets go, somewhere deep inside, Samuel finds the ability to keep his arm up in the air. Yet again, everyone is in shock in the arena. Then, “The King of the Gannosuke Clutch” drives his knee into the head of his adversary. Moore’s head snaps aside, and then as he tries to fight through that to keep the KoH locked in. Against the 5-foot 8-inch wrestler’s will, Samuel drives two more repeated knees to the head. Patrick loses his bearings, and droops his head down, enough for Samuel to use his free arm to counter, grabbing Moore’s head and pulls it between his legs, and uses the strength in his legs to pull him out of the KoH.

TED CEDAR: “SOME HOW, SOME WAY, SAMUEL FOUGHT OUT OF THE KOH!”

ADAM DENNIS:: “WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES MOORE HAVE TO DO?”

TED CEDAR: “Both men are down, who’s going to take the advantage?”

Jack Hammer begins his count and both men are lying in the middle of the ring, motionless. By the count of three, Moore begins to show signs of life. At the four count, Greg is slowly crawling toward the ropes. By the six count, “The Maine Attraction” reaches the ropes, and Moore is off of his stomach and on all fours. By the seven count, Greg is using the ropes to get himself slowly to a vertical base. By the eight count, Greg is on one knee and “The King of Hearts” is trying to catch his breath. The nine count sees Samuel stumbling back to a vertical base and Moore on a foot and a knee. Right before the ten count, Patrick is back to his feet, and the Wells Fargo Arena is angry, thinking that Samuel had the win. Just one look at Samuel will show you he’s reaching deep within and pulling out a second wind. “BEAST MODE!” Samuel yells and the crowd in Philadelphia explodes out of their seats. Moore uses the rest of his energy to charge at Greg, looking to finish him off once and for all. Before he reaches Samuel, “Beast Mode” throws a boot into the air, and connects with the big boot. Samuel falls back into the ropes, as a lot of his energy was used in that boot. “The King of Hearts” stumbles backwards, but has to fight back toward Samuel if he wants to have any chance of winning this match. Merely walking towards his adversary is all Moore can muster up the energy to do, and once he does reach Greg, he is greeted with a fist. Moore stumbles back and then throws a fist in return, which is blocked and then greeted with another punch. As Moore staggers, Greg closes in and then throws another punch. The former Intercontinental Champion takes Moore into a front facelock, and then flips him over. Before Moore can even think about countering, Samuel drops to his stomach, driving the back of Moore’s head into the mat with his signature move, GPP. The crowd blows up as Moore’s head feels like it was flattened on the backside. A shot of adrenaline shoots through Greg’s body and he pushes back to his feet quicker than his battered body should be able to. Greg is waving his arms up and down, pumping up himself and the crowd, much to the chagrin of Andrew Greenburg. Moore struggles to fight back to a vertical base, where he may not want to be. Once he is back up, he finds himself with Greg’s arm across his shoulders, facing the opposite way of Samuel. Greg then lifts him a couple inches of the ground and then drops to his back, slamming the face of Moore down onto the mat, completing Fatal Attracion.

TED CEDAR: “FATAL ATTRACTION! FATAL ATTRACTION! MAH GAWD, IS SAMUEL GONNA WIN THIS?”

ADAM DENNIS:: “NO WAY! NO WAY!”

Moore is lied out flat on the mat, showing absolutely no signs of life after Greg hit his Fatal Attraction. Samuel rolls over his smaller opposition, revealing a stream of blood dripping out of Moore’s nose after he was laid out. Samuel hooks the leg and with every count, the Wells Fargo arena counts along. “ONE! TWO! THREE!”

TED CEDAR: “SAMUEL DID IT! SAMUEL DID IT! HE SURVIVED! And to the man who just took the beating of a lifetime and walked away, five points toward his dream, the World Heavyweight Championship!”

Green Day’s “Nuclear Family” hits and Samuel rolls off of Patrick Moore, and just lays one the mat, soaking in the success of his return match. Jack Hammer assists Samuel back to a vertical base and then raises his hand in victory.

LAURA WATTS: “Here is your winner, now with five points in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, “THE MAINE ATTRACTION” GREG SAMUEL!”

“The Maine Attraction” stumbles into the corner where he just puts his head down on the top turnbuckle and basks in the victory. The crowd in the Wells Fargo Arena is going nuts as Samuel endured just about everything you could ever expect him to, and then came out the victor. Greg then pulls himself up to the second rope, and holds his hands up in the air, getting an even bigger reaction from the Philadelphia crowd.
