The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to trade wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Seattle will receive a conditional draft pick in 2015, which will range from a second- to fourth-round pick, a source told ESPN's John Clayton.

Fox Sports first reported the trade, which is contingent on Harvin passing a physical.

In five games for Seattle this season, Harvin has 22 receptions for 133 yards and no touchdowns. He also has 92 rushing yards on 11 carries.

Seattle acquired Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings on March 11, 2013, in exchange for first- and seventh-round picks in 2013, and a third-round pick in 2014.

The Seahawks then signed him to a six-year, $67 million contract, with $25.5 million guaranteed.

Also, no more excuses for Geno. No pressure now considering we're at 1-6, a lot weaker teams and defenses overall that we're facing, and now he also has Harvin to throw to. This is awesome for our future but what I like more about this is it's also great to see if Geno should/will be part of our future plans or not. He has an extremely fair shot to prove what he can do now.

With Russ' contract year coming up and other players we need to resign, it's common sense what we did. He's making around $13 mil/year. Good luck keeping his contract.

Man, this is the 2nd team that sent Percy packing because of his "remarkable ability" & Jets fans think they got a steal. They love to get cast offs from other teams, don't they?

Yeah... common sense by the Seahawks to get him for a year, hardly even use him due to injury, and then give him up for less while he's actually active and playing well.

There has to be just some sort of internal problem with him in the organization. Either that or for some reason they saw his signing as a mistake and after realizing it, they just wanted their 2014 pick back. Doesn't make sense though, he could do a lot for them just with that jet sweep dimension to his game alone.

Regardless, I'm happy with this even considering that contract (which he's making like $11M a year according to that article, not $13M). He's a huge playmaker in many ways. He may not be worth what the Seahawks gave up for him (still probably is tbh) but he's easily worth one pick in the 2nd-4th round pick range.

Whatever he does for ya'll will determine his worth.

He's worth a 3rd round pick IMO. We gave up too much for him. Plus gave him too big of a contract. We can't afford to keep him. I'm guessing that we shopped him around and ya'll were the only ones stupid enough to trade for him.

I'm sure him being useless & doing absolutely nothing since he's been there had something do w/ it. They won a SB w/o him, so they don't need Percy Harvin. He wasn't worth keeping.

And according to the sources that I've seen, this was a desperation move by the Jets. It seems that they were the only team interested.

If not anything else, he was a good distraction to defenses. And he's done a good amount for the team with his limited targets and carries. He hasn't "done absolutely nothing" Blame them, not him. Also, if you're just looking at stats, he had a couple of his big plays brought back due to OL penalties, including 3 TD's all in 1 game.

Don't act like the talent's not there, it is. The usage just wasn't there. Maybe Percy just wasn't fitting in with what Seattle has been trying to do offensively, even tho when you look at it he kinda has they just didn't feel the need to consistently use him more efficiently.

But the Jets got a steal.... Only team interested in giving up a 2nd-4th rounder for a guy with Percy's talent makes them the only smart team then.

The contract is the only legitimate concern, but I'll still gladly take a Harvin-type player for a couple years for that amount.

They still have Geno Smith. This is the same team that kept Mark Sanchez in all year long when they had Tebow and people were crying for him to take over the starting job. As long as Rex Ryan is the head coach, that team is fucked.

Blown out or not, he refuses to make starting QB changes. If Smith stays the QB the Jets go 1-15

Smith is the best QB they have.

He isn't the problem.

Vick is better, I truly believe that. Maybe not with typical QB skills but the explosiveness in Vick's passing & running abilities would make our offense a hell of a lot better IMO. Teams are prepared to focus on stopping the run against us, it's predictable. Not so much with a fast QB like Vick in there.

And I actually do think that Geno should've gotten benched for the season in that San Diego game... but I don't blame Rex at all for not making the switch. This is better to give Geno his fair shot to prove something, especially now that they have Harvin in the offense.

Geno's definitely not even close to the main problem though, but he's a contributing factor of problems for the Jets this season.
