Following John Cena’s match with Brock Lesnar this weekend at Night of Champions, it’s possible the 15-time world champion could be entering a program with Rusev. Rusev, alongside his Russian counterpart Lana, were placed in the final segment of last night’s go-home episode of Monday Night Raw, brawling with the pro-America, former Olympian Mark Henry. The belief is that the segment was less about Henry and Rusev’s match this weekend, and more about setting the foreign heel up as the next major challenge for John Cena.

As of now this is still just an unconfirmed rumor, as are conflicting reports that Cena could be taking some time off following a likely loss to Brock this Sunday on PPV.

Rusev is mediocre and was built up solely to do a feud with a top babyface ala Khali or Kozlov. Rusev will definitely lose his undefeated streak - but how you didn't see this coming is baffling to me.

Of course he will. Undefeated streaks never last () but if WWE is building this guy off, they should get more of a payoff instead of jobbing him out after they make him lose (ala Ryback).

I honestly think WWE won't job him out. WWE need a monster heel, and with Lana, Rusev is that heel they need.

Rusev wont be jobbed out but he surely wont look strong at all during the Cena feud.

I disagree that he won't look strong, but he will lose momentum. Exactly like Ryback.

Ryback lost momentum due to being put into a title feud he wasn't ready for. That was the start of his downward spiral.

Rusev will win by cheating/DQ, then Cena will beat him the next PPV.

Survivor Series: Team Rusev beats Team Cena (Rusev being the sole survivor)

TLC: Cena beats Rusev in a Steel Cage match.

That leads out the year with Rusev looking unstoppable, and Cena beating Rusev once.

Ah yes. Just what we need. A foreign Heel powerhouse to face WWE's "top guy" in a valiant effort where he'll eventually lose and then later on become completely forgotten about or essentially drop down to mid-card or even lower-card status.

Not like that's been done before.

Broski has his hope way too high on Rusev. You can do the woulda coulda shouldas but that is not the WWE plan...and really no one but Broski's. Rusev will be Cena's bitch to make (in WWE's eyes) look strong after losing again to Brock.

They already got top heels like Orton, maybe even Seth Rollins and the Authority. So I doubt they'll make Rusev one of the top heels. Which is sad, because Rusev can actually move. Them running superkicks

Rusev you can have all the faith in. WWE creative...that is a different story.

Like Ian said, I don't think Rusev is anything special. A program with John Cena could be the pinnacle of his career, and win or lose that would be a lot more than other, more talented guys on the roster are getting.
