According to PWInsider.com, WWE originally had a backstage Big Show and Mark Henry segment written into the SummerSlam script, but sometime on Sunday afternoon the segment was cut from the show.

WWE decided they wanted to focus more on the in-ring SummerSlam product and less on backstage segments.

Did Lesnar’s Title Win Boost Last Night’s WWE Raw Viewership?

Last night’s post-SummerSlam edition of WWE Raw, which featured Brock Lesnar being crowned the new WWE World Champion, took in 4.194 million viewers, which is down 2.5% from last week’s 4.30 million viewers.

The first hour of last night’s show drew 4.281 million viewers, the second hour drew 4.330 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.972 million viewers.

Last night’s Raw went up against NFL pre-season football, and fell just behind the game as well as Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta.
